Nothing but clear skies & cool breezes this morning.

Just clear skies… and crashing waves! Another breezy morning along the lakefront with a chill coming in from off the lake. Long sleeves & gloves to start the day… hoping it warms up today for a beautiful Saturday!

Another windy & splashy morning along the lakefront. Kinda chilly. Kinda cloudy. A great recipe for a very dramatic sunrise morning! Great fun… at least until the headwind ride back home!

Not a cloud in the sky, just some hazy patches along the lakefront in the lower grassy areas. Quiet, calm & serene. A beautiful way to start the day.

After a wonderful weekend at ART IN THE BARN… thank you to everyone who came out to Barrington… it felt great to be back on my bike this morning. After standing around on cement for two days, my “sore legs” needed a little loosening up. So pedaling his morning totally helped… and the sunrise made it even better!!!

The morning started out very dark, gray & windy! I had very low expectations of ever seeing the sun this morning. But then the clouds & winds worked together to create this wonderful window of opportunity!!! And the sunrise became a MAGICAL MOMENT as the colors splashed all across the sky… if only for a few magical moments!!! Such an amazing “sunrise surprise”!!!

Before all of the underglaze painting… the sunrise was painting the sky with some fun colors while the waves were SPLASHING all around again. Crazy cool. So much fun. It was windy & cold… too soon for long sleeves & gloves… but the lakefront fiasco made it all worth it!!! Hope the wait for sunrise photos was worth the wait too…

A dark, chilly & windy ride!!! So windy that I almost turned around before I had even gotten to the bike trail. But I’m stubborn & committed… so I carried on. And then the waves were crashing & winds were blowing so hard that I thought I felt the drifting misty water hitting my face?! Turns out it was RAIN!!! Yep, dark, windy AND rainy!!! A couple times I did get splashed by the crashing waves while trying to get a picture. Fun, huh??? And not a spectacular sunrise to show for it either!!!

Finally… a morning without rain. Too many rainy mornings in a row. It felt great to be back on my bike despite the crazy winds blowing in off the lake. It kinda felt like I was pedaling into the headwind in both….err, ALL directions?! At least we had some CRAZY cool waves crashing along the shore to keep it exciting!!!

After a long weekend of packing, prepping, standing, chatting, selling, standing, wrapping, taking down my booth & getting it all home in two trips… I must admit it felt great to “just sit down” for awhile this morning. Sure, I might have been pedaling too… but still, it was a long weekend of “standing” at ART IN THE GARDEN this weekend!!! Felt great to be back on my bike!!!
