Another cloudy morning. I had high hopes for a colorful sunrise splashing across the clouds… but to no avail. We got plenty of dramatic “layers” of clouds, shadows & silhouettes…. but no real sunrise colors. Just some beautiful drama & reflections! And I’m here for it…

After yesterday’s Chicago Triathlon, it felt great to get back on the bike this morning. A leisurely ride along the lakefront enjoying the sunrise as I pedaled. Perfect for “working out the kinks” & getting some of that lactic acid out of my legs. Loved the sunrise… and my legs feel much better now!

We started with a large low-lying cloud… but then it opened up & we got another wave of spotted clouds to finish out the morning sunrise. Unfortunately, I got “trapped” on the wrong side of the golf course while the “first sunrise” made it over the low-lying clouds. Luckily, it looked pretty cool going behind the spotty clouds too!!! So… still a beautiful sunrise today!!!

As I had stopped to snap some sunrise photos… a man stopped just short of getting in my camera frame. I thought that was nice, but unnecessary. I can wait until you cross. And yet he stood there while I snapped my pictures. Then he approached me & said he sees me every morning stopping to take my sunrise pictures. And he wondered what I did with all of my photos… and if I wanted to see the photo he just took of me. He said he knows I don’t ever get a sunrise photo of myself… so he AirDropped one to me… and here it is!!! That’s me on the lakefront taking my pictures… at one of my “usual” stops apparently… thanks to the nice man in the red hat that must enjoy the sunrises almost as much as I do!

Another beautiful morning along the lakefront today. Quiet & serene with a bit of a damp chill in the air. Wispy clouds & colored reflections… only to be outdone by a big “red ball” of a sunrise!

Lots of clouds, lots of drama. With one large cloud looming to the north… the sunrise was trying its best to make it out before that cloud took over! We kinda made it… as the sun finally came out in a glaring blaze of glory at the very end of my ride!!!

Nothing but clouds… gray & grayer!!!
Not looking so good for the Air & Water Show today as the rain is predicted to start soon!

Not much of a sunrise… just clouds & humidity.
And a very tiny “smudge” of orange at the very end?!
