So I received an amaryllis bulb as a belated Christmas gift from one of my students this week. And it’s “wax-covered”… like a babybel cheese?! Anyway, so there’s no dirt, no roots & no water??? Wait, what??? Just put it in the sun & watch it grow? Really??? Goes against everything we know about caring for plants? I can’t wait see how this one plays out. Thanks Kathy for my new houseplant intrigue!!!

Another freezing cold day! Luckily the sun is shining… a perfect day for icicles!!! And for a frozen-over pile of plants that “someone” may have left outside in anticipation of getting them planted in the ground before the cold weather hit. Guess “someone” waited too long??? Looks cool though… also looks frozen solid!!!

Doing a little trimming in the studio tonight… on the new batch of mugs! I love trimming… even more with some of my favorites from DiamondCore Tools & Giffin Grip. A perfect duo for a fun night of trimming!!!

Just finished assembling my “class demo” casserole… as my Intermediate Wheel class has been focused on casseroles this session. No one ever said a casserole has to be oval, right???

Just a quick update! I’ve noticed on several of my past Facebook posts that this “person” has been dropping her account Link into the Comments section… “attaching” their info responding to the Comments left by my actual Facebook Followers. I don’t know if it is a “cyber-bad” issue or not. But I just don’t want MY Followers to get barraged by “ads” from some other person… or Ai Bot?! I’ve been sending them direct messages telling them to stop… and I’ve been deleting their messages for awhile now. If it keeps up, I will have to report them to the folks at Meta asking them to block or take down her account.

Just be careful… and please feel free to share this with other potters who might not be aware. As the author of my posts, I would never have seen these posts if I weren’t opening every post for reviewing & responding to the Comments left for me. I’m glad I noticed this… and I apologize if any of you were among the people who was “contacted” through the Comments section with this inappropriate tactic. Thank You.

But then this happened?!

After a fun night with friends, I somehow decided to back out of her curved driveway “straight” into the culvert ditch NEXT TO her driveway!!! With the snow blowing all around us, slippery conditions & no tow trucks available… I spent the night at “Chateau Monroe.” This morning it was still snowing… but I got towed out, all good, drove home safely on the roads & am now how safe & sound!!! Coulda been so much worse… luckily we were safe at her house & the bed in her guest room is very comfy. Thanks again Melissa!!!

Don’t forget I brought brownies… but Melissa had also bought me some Cinnamon Bun OREOs at the Japanese food store! Yes, the info, ingredients & nutrition were all in Japanese! Very tasty… and I also came home with some “lovely parting gifts” from Melissa’s pottery studio. A beautiful set of four bowls… raw clay on the outside & a beautiful green glaze on the inside!!! Thanks again Melissa!!!
