Beautiful soda kiln bricks after a LOT of firings. The build-up is amazing… although not so good for the longevity of a kiln. Luckily, the soda kiln at Lillstreet is scheduled to be rebuilt at the end of the year.

Here we go again… seems like I just loaded this kiln a couple weeks ago?!

My second dahlia of the summer! I’ve been nursing it along through this long stretch of dry days! Watering whenever I can. They’re predicting rain for tomorrow… and my garden will be very happy if they’re right!!! More rain… more dahlias???

Looks like another beautiful day for the last day of Summer! Clear skies, calm waters & sparkling reflections. A little warm & humid… another sweaty ride… perfectly Summery!

Like a kiss from a rose… in a stamped & soda-fired vase! Pretty little orange garden roses in an oval vase… with a strappy little handle that helps keep the flowers where you want them! I’ll be bringing a few of these oval vases to ART IN THE BARN next weekend.

Packed with pumpkins! Just another bisque kiln getting ready for next weekend’s ART IN THE BARN! Plenty of new hybrid mugs & pumpkins of all sizes after my next soda kiln firing!

We finally got some clouds… a splash of color early on before the clouds took over! After several days of clear skies, I was happy to see a bit of “drama” on the horizon this morning. Clear skies are fine, but I enjoy a good clouded sunrise so much more!!!

Painting some colored flashing slip on a few last-minute pieces for my upcoming soda kiln! If all goes well, the slip will turn orange & the textures will all be accentuated by the soda-firing atmosphere! Fingers crossed.

My first dahlia bloom of the year… finally at full-size! Hopefully we all survive this dry-spell we’re in & I get more dahlias to bloom in my garden!!! The leftover water in my bike water bottles only goes so far!!! Ha!!!

Just when you thought they couldn’t top themselves…
the crazy folks at OREO’s have done it!!!

A crazy cross-collaboration with Coca-Cola! Yep, this week we tried the Coca-Cola flavored OREOs in my pottery classes!!! Much better than I expected… with two-color cookies… so “on-brand”… and just a little dash of carbonation!!! No, seriously…

We also had a can of OREO-flavored Coca-Cola! I didn’t try it… since I swore off caffeinated sodas over 30 years ago as a New Years Resolution! Don’t want to break it now… and trust me, no one needs to see me all hopped up on caffeine! I’m a bit too much already!!! Ha!!!
