Trimming fun with DiamondCore Tools!

Just getting ready for a little trimming session… and I’ve got my two favorites ready to go… my DiamondCore Tools & my Giffin Grip posts!
Time to get spinning, time to get trimming!

Cutting ribbons… spinning clay… trimming bottoms! So much easier, quicker, cleaner & a lot more fun with DiamondCore Tools & my Giffin Grip – the perfect pottery studio duo!!!

Just getting ready to tackle a new batch of mugs… getting ready for some fun trimming, which we all know I LOVE!!! Especially with my line-up of trimming tools from DiamondCore Tools.

After our carving demo in my Intermediate Wheel class, it was great to see Christine still at it a week later… still making such crisp & clean lines with a DiamondCore Carving Tool in hand!

Always fun to play with some great tools… and sharing them with my students!!! Using my favorite DiamondCore Tools in class to carve cool patterns… leaving a pile of carvings on the table!
Little chunks of clay destined for the reclaim bucket…

Here’s a few shots of my students getting started… a bit tentative at first… but quickly got their groove on!!!… and loving the sharp carving edges of my DiamondCore Tools!

Last week in my Intermediate Wheel class, we tackled some decorative carving techniques. So we came into class with some pieces with thicker walls, knowing that we would be carving into the sides…. and I brought down most of my DiamondCore Tools for my students to use. So we sat around the table and just started carving & making random patterns… having fun & trying our best not to cut through the walls!!!

We all know how much I LOVE trimming! Especially with my favorite trimming tool from DiamondCore Tools. I love watching those clay ribbons peel right off! Always trimming sharp clean lines… even as it ever-so-slowly wears away… it still trims just as sharp! Pondering when it will eventually be time to change out the blade with their convenient replacement blades?! I’m guessing maybe when the blade breaks through???

Rolling textures & patterns onto some thin slabs using my MKM Pottery Tools … press & roll smoothly to get some impressive details. The real question though… what to make out of these textured slabs now?!
