For anyone around the TV tonight, my friends Kristen & Andy will be on tonight’s episode of “Kitchen Crashers.” Kristen is a metalsmith-turned-Mom who got a complete kitchen make-over courtesy of the DIY Channel. Can’t wait to see the transformation… and watch for her adorable kids too. They’re the cuties who made terra cotta mugs in my studio a few weeks ago!

After three hilarious seasons, and a hasty cancelling by the FOX network, one of the funniest shows ever on TV is coming back for more! After a six year hiatus, “Arrested Development” is returning to continue the hilarity with fifteen new episodes only on Netflix starting May 26th, 2013. I can’t wait to catch up with the whole dysfunctional Bluth family… with Michael, George, George Michael, Lucille, Buster, Lindsay, Tobias, Maeybe… and my favorite Gob. They’re promising that all of our favorite characters are coming back – including Lucille Austero!!!

Mark your calendars. Update your Netflix queue. Get arrested.

Anyone else watching my new favorite TV show? I think I’m already hooked on “Bates Motel” on A&E. It’s a prequel thriller about Norman Bates of the “Psycho” movie fame! Find out what happened to Norman before he became one of the most notorious serial killers. And what was really going on with him and his Mom… who we now know was named Norma. Seriously?!

With Carlton Cuse as one of the show’s producers, it’s sure to have lots of plot twists along the way like my other favorite show of his “LOST.” In fact, the actor who played Richard Alpert is the town’s sheriff… and I’m hoping for more cross-over casting!

We’re only two episodes in, so you’ve got plenty of time to check into the Motel!!!

I’m hoping for another “slasher” of a hit from TV producer Carlton Cuse.
He was one of the masterminds behind my all-time favorite television show “LOST.”
Let’s see if he can do it again with “Bates Motel” on A&E… starting tomorrow night!

So apparently I’m not the only one who has heard enough of the Righteous Brothers?!
And enough references to that movie from the early 90’s that shall remain nameless?

Click here to see the “Zero Ghost Tolerance Policy” video.
It’s pretty short… and hysterically funny! Ya’ gotta love a good Buster moment!!!
Thanks for the video suggestion DeAnn! Too funny.

We potters have all been plagued with every reference imaginable from that scene
in “Ghost” where Patrick Swayze & Demi Moore are getting all hot & bothered while
throwing pottery on a wheel. You know the scene… and then “Unchained Melody”
plays in the background. Making it an all-too-memorable movie moment that no one
seems to forget. We hear about it all the time.

As it if were even possible, and you’ve forgotten… click here for the “Ghost” video!

And now, just when you thought that maybe “Ghost” had been forgotten…
“Glee” has brought it that scene back! Sure, not quite so sexy. But still.

So now we’ll be hearing that “unchained” reference again… now from a whole new,
younger generation who may have never even heard of “Ghost.” Great. Just great.

As part of the Holiday Opening Party last night at Lillstreet Art Center,
they also had an open Art Fair on the third floor with a lot of students & friends
selling their wares. Obviously, I had to add to my crazy-cool Terry Hogan collection
of pierced porcelain! You know I’m a sucker for repetitive patterns & textures!

As if the her pierced “pods” weren’t cute enough… now she’s making Christmas ornaments
which are equally cool. I couldn’t decide… so I had to get all three! Each cooler than the next!

And a tw0-sided mitten… I think I like the snowflake side the best?

And a precisely pierced porcelain precious perky pup… priceless!!!

New this year, all five artists will be creating a special, one-of-a-kind piece in
their traditional methods to debut at ART DETOUR. But here’s the catch…
they have to have a bird on them! Quite the challenge for those of us who are
not illustrators?! And I’m REALLY excited to see what Sarah comes up with
in her metalsmithing work?! The items will be available for bid by silent auction.
A portion of the proceeds benefit the Northwoods Wildlife Center which
provides humane wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and release services.

Why a bird?!… well, it’s kind of a long story… and kind of an inside joke.
I will be more than willing to fill you in on the joke when I see you up North.
But until then, there’s a short YouTube video might tell the story even better!

“Put A Bird On It” Video on YouTube… thank you “Portlandia.”
