This week we tried the latest OREO creation… based on the Marvel comics!

But I have a couple questions… like why would I care about Marvel characters on my cookies? Or why would I want GREY cream in my OREOs?? And more importantly… why would I want them to turn BLUE when I lick them??? Well… apparently I was wrong… and we had a lot of fun with them in all three of my classes!!! I fear that the blue dye is still wearing off…

Okay… so today was a double-whammy of yummy holidays. We started the day with one… and now we’re ending with another one. As today is also NATIONAL CHERRY PIE DAY!!! You know I love a good holiday… and a good pie!!!

Brightened my day with a cheery colorful breakfast plate by my friend Cory Mccrory this morning. Fun textures & colors to kick-off another dreary Friday! Cory will also be the host artist at the Sandwich location of the NORTHERN ILLINOIS POTTERY TOUR… where I will be too! Stop by and see both of us with a bunch of other talented potters the first weekend of June!

And it’s another fun Friday… as it’s also NATIONAL MUFFIN DAY!!!

And if I can match a good theme with a national holiday?… even better! So today is a double win “for the gold” as it is also NATIONAL CHOCOLATE MINT DAY!!! My class has no idea what they’re in for tonight…

Celebrating one of everyone’s favorite holidays … even if they don’t know it?!

Today is NATIONAL PIZZA DAY!!!
And I just had to celebrate a little before teaching class tonight
with some deep dish gooey cheesy yumminess!

Nothing says “it’s another freezing cold Monday morning”
than a bit of overflowing hot chocolate to celebrate another Mugshot Monday!
Thanks for sharing Kim… enjoy & stay warm!!!

Don’t forget I brought brownies… but Melissa had also bought me some Cinnamon Bun OREOs at the Japanese food store! Yes, the info, ingredients & nutrition were all in Japanese! Very tasty… and I also came home with some “lovely parting gifts” from Melissa’s pottery studio. A beautiful set of four bowls… raw clay on the outside & a beautiful green glaze on the inside!!! Thanks again Melissa!!!

Dinner last night with some of My Talented Friends…
getting together for some “non-art fair” fun & frienship. We met at Melissa’s house where she treated us to a wonderful “hot pot” meal… my first time… served out of her own handmade “donabe” hot pots… and handmade dinnerware! Plenty of great food & great fun… especially for those struggling with chopsticks!!! Lots of yummy meats, seafood, veggies, dumplings & broths… including one she made out of corn? I’d never even heard of “corn broth” before?! Yummy!!!
