Another stunning morning along the lakefront… a bit warmer & quieter than I expected.
And it looks like we’re in for a full week of good weather!
Looking forward to more mornings like this!!!

At the end of the day, we had a wonderful weekend at the SCHAUMBURG PRAIRIE ARTS FESTIVAL. The setting & weather were perfect. Thanks again to everyone who came out to help kick-off my art fair season! See you there next year…

Sadly, not everyone “survived” the overnight rains Saturday night at the art fair. It’s always tough when you hear thunderstorms overnight knowing that your tent is out there in the downpour. Fingers crossed… hoping for the best. Luckily, my tent was fine… but there were a handful that didn’t fare so well. Like this one across from me. I will say the roof seemed a little “jenky” even before the rain. But Sunday morning we arrived to see a flooded & sagging roof. And then she decided the only way to drain it was to punch a hole through the canopy?! Odd choice… but I loved the water spiral. Unfortunately, it turned out that the frame of her tent was broken too! Just another “glamorous side” of doing outdoor art fairs that a lot of people are unaware of what the artists have to deal with!!!

So I will share that it was more than a little anxious about packing for this weekend’s art fair. This is the first one with my new car… and I was concerned that everything would fit. It does seem a little smaller than my old blue one, so things packed in a little tighter! But luckily… everything seemed to finally squeeze in just fine! What you can’t see… my tent & shelving uprights that also pile on the roof!!! Yep, I look like the “Beverly Hillbillies” coming to the art fair!!!

Besides the swans & ducks, there was also a great blue heron that kept stopping by the art fair this weekend. So cool to see him up-close… right behind my art fair booth! So beautiful… yet kind of prehistoric at the same time?!

Sure, there was plenty of ART at the art fair this weekend… but there was also a lot of nature to enjoy right behind my booth! Like the pair of nesting swans in the pond. So beautiful, so graceful. I especially loved watching the male “protect the pond”… chasing away any Canada Goose that happened by. Other waterfowl seemed okay… but NOT the geese!!!

HUGE THANKS to everyone who came out to the Schaumburg Prairie Arts Festival this weekend. It was a beautiful weekend… as we avoided the overnight rains Saturday night. It was a wonderful weekend out in the park – the perfect setting with plenty of trees, the pond, a fountain & blue skies! A great start to my summer art fair season!

Kicking off the holiday with a beautiful sunrise bike ride. Just trying to enjoy the lakefront in all of its serene beauty… before “MY” bike trail gets “invaded” by the crowds flocking to the lake to celebrate the holiday. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

The SCHAUMBURG PRAIRIE ARTS FESTIVAL is today & tomorrow from 10:00am-5:00pm.
I’ll be in the same location as last year in Booth 96… on the “other side of the pond”
from my usual pre-construction location. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

A simple single flower can make a centerpiece statement with the right ikebana vase… pin frog included inside to support your flower stems. I’ll have a good assortment of them this weekend at the Schaumburg Prairie Arts Festival while there are plenty of Spring flowers waiting to grace your table!
