A bit warmer, a bit earlier, and a bit darker. A lot of clouds this morning that didn’t quite fulfill their sunrise destiny until the final few moments… but it was WELL worth the wait!!! Oh yeah, and some nice waves to boot!

Mugs assembled… but needing some colored flashing slip accents. So each stamp is getting a little touch of colored slip that should change color and become more vibrant during my next soda-firing… in about two weeks!

Another beautiful morning along the Chicago lakefront. With one big cloud hanging out to the south. I kept hoping that the gusty winds would do something besides blow me around… like maybe blow that big cloud into the right position to light up the sky in beautiful sunrise colors. Came close… but not quite!

With a lack of color in the morning sunrise, I was pleased to find all of the color instead along the bike trail. The Fall foliage is just starting to pop in vibrant colors. These cool evenings are sure to bring this along quickly in the next week or so.

So the sunrise may have been a bit underwhelming yesterday, but the waves were crashing and making some cool patterns along the breakwater walls.

Another Sunday sunrise! Nothing too spectacular…
unless you like AMAZING “ribbons” of color flying low on the horizon!

Also enjoyed a sweet treat this afternoon at SPRINKLES… an their amazing Cupcake ATM!!! Yes, you walk up to the machine outside of the store, tap the screen to make your selections, then pay with your card as the robot inside is pulling your order and placing it in the little box to the right. When the window slides up, you pull your boxed cupcakes out! Freshly made bakery cupcakes with amazing flavors… and even better FROSTING!!! So much fun… and so yummy!!!

Never too busy for a bit of art… especially when you can play hooky at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Enjoyed the Alexander Calder & Jeff Koons exhibit… and possibly the coolest staircase in Chicago!
