KATE –
Close… they’re soda fired. Very similar to salt firing, without quite the harmful fumes burning off. I use a mixture of soda ash & soda bicarbonate instead of salt. Salt firing gives a little more “even” of a shine, where soda firing is a little more uneven and has some more “orange peel” texturing going on. Unfortunately, I no longer have these mugs so I can’t show you a close-up photo of them. But if you are on Pinterest, you can do a search for Fire When Ready Pottery and I have a couple Albums going there. I think you might like the one about Textures. There are some good close-up photos there of the stamping & soda firing. Here’s the link… http://www.pinterest.com/garyjackson1353/fire-when-ready-textures/ And thanks for the congrats… I was pretty excited when I found out!!!
