Don’t get me wrong… it’s still chilly in Chicago.
And we had another hard frost overnight giving everything a beautiful coating of winter sparkle.

Pastel clouds wafting through the sky… a bit nicer today without the chilling breeze
along the lakefront. Another beautiful start to another beautiful day!

We’re just one month away from “4×4 : FOUR MAKERS”… and I’ve really got to get my act together in the studio!!! It’s a great pop-up show with some of My Talented Friends… Sarah Chapman, Darlys Ewoldt & Robin Kittleson… giving us a talented metalsmith, sculptor & glass artist in that order!!! Mark your calendars now for the first weekend in March… with more details & photos to come!!!

After what seems like “months” of gray cloudy days… and an extreme cold freeze before that… it was AMAZING to get outside this morning for another sunrise bike ride. Sure, there might have been a thick layer of frost… but who cares?! It was great to finally see the sun rise again!!!

Excited to be sharing some of my newest hand rollers from MKM Pottery Tools with my LILLSTREET THROWDOWN students tonight! Little do they know it… but tonight’s challenge is going to be all about textures, slabs & handbuilding! Thanks MKM!!!

Looks like it’s healthy salad time up in Wisconsin to kick-off February!
Thanks to Kristy for sharing her salad… as even healthy food tastes better in handmade pottery!

It was so great to see a bit of sunshine early this morning… it’s been far too long!!!
Feels like weeks of gloomy gray days. I’m over it… and ready for Spring!!!

With our favorite “Top Baker” & a few challenge-loving students in my Intermediate Wheel class last night, I introduced a challenge project for them to work on for the end of class. Now you know how I love a good theme… so of course I had to introduce the challenge with some tasty clues!!!

Time to wrap them for the night so they can dry a little slower. Letting moisture-levels balance out overnight so I can add some accents of colored flashing slips tomorrow! Another batch of mugs for another MUGSHOT MONDAY… and now off to teach class !!!
