Yes, a wonderful performance of “OLIVER” at the Marriott Theater in Lincolnshire.
The little kid that played Oliver was great, Fagin was great, but it was Nancy whole stole the show!!! Her voice was AMAZING… piercing right through her songs making the hairs on the back of my neck stand-up. She was AMAZING… so yes, I would love some MORE!!!

Click here for the link to watch Nancy belt out her classic “As Long As He Needs Me.”

Another night.
Another theater.
Another selection of hideous theater carpet designs!!!

A fun end to Boxing Day yesterday “storming the castle” with my friend Pam at the Mercury Theater. A fun musical for Monty Python fans… and for those who “always look on the bright side of life.”

The don’t make ’em like the used to… like the gorgeous Chicago Theater. Beautiful old-school interiors & stunning craftsmanship. Over-the-top design & architectural details. Just looking around the theater is always like a show before the show!!!

Last week we kicked-off our holiday adventures with a stop at The Chicago Theater to see a brand new holiday show by my favorite Cirque du Soleil… “TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE. A fun night of holiday acrobatics & festive cheer. Okay, not quite as good as a full-on show under Le Grand Chapiteau… but still a fun holiday evening nonetheless!

A wonderfully impromptu evening at Marriott Lincolnshire last night with my niece Taylor and her parents to see “SOMETHING ROTTEN.” A wonderfully wacky, witty, pun-filled show… packed with references of Shakespeare & Broadway shows! Very fun night… nothing rotten here… especially with the yummy cheesecake that followed!

Click here to see a quick scene from “SOMETHING ROTTEN.”

It might always be The Oriental Theater to me?…
but still a gorgeous over-the-top theater now called The James M. Nederlander Theater.
To some people…

Sure, I probably should have been pricing & packing for tomorrow‘s art fair… but who can pass up a magical evening of musical theater?! Not me. A wonderful production… especially beautiful from our seats in the FRONT ROW!!!

And yes, the orchestra pit was just over-the-railing in front of us!!! So close!

Just saw a slightly “odd” rendition of the classic GUYS AND DOLLS up at
Northwestern University…. this time not all of the GUYS were played by guys,
and not all of the DOLLS were were played by dolls?!

No apparent reason. No updates. No twist. No gender bending rationale.
Even the role of Sky Masterson was played by a female… playing it as a guy…
in men’s clothing… yet with feminine posture & occasional long flowing blonde locks…
when she took her men’s hat off?! Just confusing for those who have never seen
the show before.

I had to do some explaining during intermission!
