Doing one thing on Texture Tuesday… REPLENISHING!!!

The snow yesterday may have made it a bit tougher, but there are still people searching for my 2024 fortune cookies! Remember, I’ve hidden 24 clay fortune cookies all over Illinois Beach State Park on New Years Day 2024. Since then, people have been searching them out & making some great collections! Like Allison who is one of the most enthusiastic fortune seekers!

But don’t panic, I do know that some people prefer the “catch & release” version… searching & finding the cookies, photographing, but then leaving them behind for someone else to find! So some of these posts may make it look like they’ve all been found… but I’m pretty sure there are still several out there waiting!

Looks like Harper & Delaney had a great time at Illinois Beach State Park searching for my fortune cookies again this year! This is their third year enjoying the search. The first year they randomly “tripped upon” a couple fortune cookies at Illinois Beach State Park. And then their intrigued Dad Adam did some Google searching… and found ME… and connected here on Facebook!!! They’ve been hooked on my annual fortune cookie scavenger hunt ever since!!! Glad you had a great family adventure… and thanks for sharing again Adam!

Yes, I have once again hidden some handmade ceramic fortune cookies to kick-off the New Year. Spreading good will & good fortune around for people to find. The following photos are the “clues” that you can use to find the twenty-four fortune cookies scattered around Illinois Beach State Park. I’m not going to make it easy… but the search is on! Go outside & play in nature… and find “your fortune” at the same time!

Looks like Adam made it out to Illinois Beach State Park again… and the fortune cookie scavenger hunt is still on!!! Yep, I placed twenty-three ceramic fortune cookies out there over New Years Weekend… 23 for 2023… and apparently people are still finding them! Thanks for keeping us posted Adam… and congrats on adding another fortune cookie to your collection!

Looks like Adam and his kids continued the search… and he & daughter Delaney each found a new 2023 for their own collections! So fun that this has become such a family activity! Here’s to the start of a great New Year!

Looks like another one has been found! Adam “returned to the scene” after randomly finding a fortune cookie last year… and then searched online to find me. So now that his kids know about the fortune cookies… the hunt is on!!!

According to Adam…
“My son Harper found the one next to the yucca plant. He couldn’t have been more excited and proud. His sister Delaney hopes to return and try for one for herself! They had a great time with the hunt. Feel free to share their photos if you’d like. Thanks, Gary!”

And the search continues… looks like Allison & friends were out looking around Illinois Beach State Park on a rainy & gloomy Tuesday morning. Guess their persistence paid off with three fortune cookie finds! Well done… and HAPPY NEW YEAR ALLISON. Hope these fortune cookies bring you good fortune in the New Year!

Looks like Tina found the first TWO fortune cookies this afternoon while hiking out at Illinois Beach State Park! She was so excited since last year she found NONE!!! So today was her lucky day… and someone else’s too! Tina was so nice that she left the second one for another lucky person to find on another day!
