Dear Mr. Jackson,
Thank you for your blog. I always enjoy looking at your entries. You were one of the first artists that got me started making stamps for clay. In fact, the method you use got me hooked on texture. I have been on a texture kick for some time now. I just wanted to drop you a note to ask about the above image. Could you tell me, is this one of your designs or is this a purchased stamp? I love the deep impressions here!!!
Thank you again for sharing.
Julie
JULIE – I hope your stamping adventure is coming along nicely. The texture in question is actually made by a stamp that one of my adult wheelthrowing students gave me. It’s a factory-made, cut-foam stamp… probably for scrapbook stamping?! It’s a little tougher to use and get clean edges with. At first it was kind of a “weird” gift, but I’ve come to LOVE it. I always have the best students!!!
