I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…

Bigger skyshows need bigger photos!!!

The morning started out very dark, gray & windy! I had very low expectations of ever seeing the sun this morning. But then the clouds & winds worked together to create this wonderful window of opportunity!!! And the sunrise became a MAGICAL MOMENT as the colors splashed all across the sky… if only for a few magical moments!!! Such an amazing “sunrise surprise”!!!

Before all of the underglaze painting… the sunrise was painting the sky with some fun colors while the waves were SPLASHING all around again. Crazy cool. So much fun. It was windy & cold… too soon for long sleeves & gloves… but the lakefront fiasco made it all worth it!!! Hope the wait for sunrise photos was worth the wait too…

Perhaps my cutest “Ghoul” in the collection?!
And as the eighteenth member of the collection, that’s saying a lot. I’m totally enamored with the pops of color & how each one is looking different! Might make choosing the “right one” tough for some people this weekend at ART IN THE BARN!!!
That is… if I can get them in a kiln soon enough…

Oh yeah… in my “spare time” I also made a new batch of tombstones to go with my “Ghouls Collection”! Guess they’ll need to be underglazed while I have them all out painting owls! Why aren’t there more hours in a day???

So while I was underglaze painting my Ghoul Owls…
I also painted the new batch of tombstones.
Cute little headstones to sit amongst your collection of Ghouls!

The “eyes” have it! Started by underglazing the eyes on all of the owls.
Already thinking they’re kind of adorable! I love how the personality is starting to pop!
The newest “ghoul” in the collection is already bright-eyed & ready for more!!!

Well, they’re finally here! With a late-night “reveal” of this year’s addition to The Ghouls Collection! While many of you have been asking “Who?” for awhile… get it?

I’ve been working on them for awhile in my studio… with a few hints posted here & there along the way. Did you catch them? But my owls still look a little naked! So I had to bust out some underglazes today to start adding colors.
