Mark you calendar for the GLENVIEW SUMMER ART FAIR this coming weekend… Saturday, July 18th & Sunday, July 19th from 11:00am-5:00pm. We’re at a new location this year due to construction… just a few blocks northwest of the original place. So we’ll be setting up at Attea School this year… and I’d love to see you there with plenty of pottery for everyone… and bring a friend!!!

Quiet & calm along the lakefront. Not a lot of clouds… but just enough to make a colorful splash. And beautiful reflections on the rippled water.

After kayaking today, I made a quick stop into the studio to carve another sgraffito bowl… one of last Tuesday night’s demo bowls. It took awhile for it to dry to leatherhard after adding a layer of wet slip in the interior. But I knew it would be ready today… so I did a quick sgraffito session with my favorite carving tool from DiamondCore Tools !!!

Congrats to Maya in my Monday night class… for making these cool bookend flower pots! She came into class & said that she wanted to focus on making flower pots & planters this session. So she has… including these crackled white slip planters! Very cool… and very successful. Thanks for sharing your work Maya!!!

Spent a wonderful afternoon floating around on the water. Kayaking around the Skokie Lagoons enjoying the blue skies, white waterlilies & assorted waterfowl. Always fun to see a Great Blue Heron… and quite possibly my first Black-Crowned Night-Heron?… yes, I had to look it up. A beautiful day of paddling… a nice change from pedaling!

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday we had crazy cool colorful clouds everywhere… and today none!!! Just a quiet sunrise over a fairly calm lake. Nothing too crazy. Just a quiet & serene Sunday sunrise.

As easy as 1, 2, 3… one row, two rows, three!!! Did a little platter stamping today. All of the surface decoration, texture & pattern was done with just one of my handmade stamps.

Pressed in one by one… by one… by one…

Garden fun!!! Kristy & Matthew in Stevens Point, Wisconsin are participating in their local garden walk this weekend. And featuring a few of my ceramic novelties in their garden. Always fun to see some pottery, birdhouses & rusty metal popping up amongst the flowers! Thanks for sharing Kristy… and have fun showing off your garden!!!
