A beautifully chilly morning along the lakefront. Especially cool with the “slushy” water and an early-morning fog that made the path just a little slick. Still a wonderful way to start my day…. with plenty of layers!

So excited that Christine’s latest batch of ornaments came out of the kiln beautifully just in time for Christmas! She made her first ornaments in my class last session and soda-fired them in my kiln. But now this batch she played even more with underglazes with a clear glaze in a high-fire kiln. Very festive & very fun!!!
Loving how the sun streaming through the window is playing on the soda-fired surfaces on a couple vases sitting on my dining room table… especially that totally-unplanned shadow of a mug handle!!!
Almost a month… and not only have I not killed it yet, but it’s still blooming!!!!
After thirteen games of bingo, a couple raffles, and a LOT of daubing… I got nothing!!!
Didn’t even gone close but once! Luckily my friend Sandy won one of rounds!!! Okay, so I will admit that there may have been two rounds where it was going so fast that I started to giggle and couldn’t stop. Allegedly. Tears running down my face as I tried to stifle the laughter… only to make it worse. Not quite sure I even “heard†all of the numbers called in those two rounds?! So maybe I could have won some cash… but instead I had a great night of fun with my friends! I take that any time!!
Another stamped & soda-fired vase waiting to find a new home
tomorrow at MUD & METAL… my Second Holiday Home Show!
Just making sure the shelves are full again for tomorrow’s
SECOND HOLIDAY HOME SHOW… starting with oval vases!!! Lots of pots in every room… and even more pots moved to The Tired of Shlepping Sale shelves!!! We’re open tomorrow from 10:00am-6:00pm… c’mon by!
Whatcha doin’ tomorrow?
Perhaps shopping for Christmas gifts?… why not stop by my Second Holiday Home Show?!!! Lots of pots in every room… plus my friend & metalsmith Amy Taylor will be showing off her treasures as well. Pottery & jewelry… that pretty much covers everyone on your list, right?!!
Well, it’s been awhile since we’ve seen any sun in the morning lately! Its just been cloudy, cloudy, CLOUDY!!!… and gray! So I was excited today to finally get a sunrise to share… even if it only lasted a couple minutes… and then right back into gray nothingness!
