Dramatic clouds to kick-off the morning. With great potential for some stunning sunrise colors to come… and there was no disappointment. Mother Nature pulled out a great one this morning!

Beautiful day on Chicago’s Navy Pier.
How much do I want to be out playing in the sun today?!
Another warm start to the day. With clouds spanning the sky, I had grand hopes for a sunrise spectacle. It was good, but not great… the clouds were beautifully colored, but then it kinda felt like it fizzled out a bit?! But the bike ride was still GREAT!!! Maybe I’m just getting jaded?… or maybe a sunrise snob???
HUGE THANKS to all of my wonderful friends, family & customers who came out to Barrington this weekend in the heatwave. None of us would expect to be sweating like that during the first weekend of Fall. Regardless of the heat… it’s always fun to get a ribbon at the art fair. And if I were to “choose” which ribbon I would want… it’s THIS ONE!!! It’s for being one of the Top Ten Seller’s at last year’s ART IN THE BARN. So this is the ribbon that really matters!!! And I hope we get another one next year to prove that we can sell pottery even during a hot spell.
A quick glimpse at some of the mugs that came out of my most recent cone 6 glaze kiln LATE Friday night… just in time to make their way to ART IN THE BARN. Some might have still been a bit warm?!
My niece Taylor came out to help at ART IN THE BARN both days.
She’s a great booth assistant, and apparently a blossoming “marketing director” in the making… with her own Instagram collage post to her friends & followers.
Always thinking, always helping.
Huge thanks to everyone who came out to ART IN THE BARN this weekend.
Taking on the heatwave to support your favorite artists. I know many of us felt like these Zombies after two days in the sultry-steamy-sweaty weather. But it was so much fun to see everyone again. So many good customers, artist friends, family and Zombie Hunters!!!
If you’re off to a good start on your own Ghouls Collection,
I’d love to see a photo of them when you bring them out for the season!
Shoot me an e-mail with your photos – gary@firewhenreadypottery.com. Thanks!
After two full days of standing around working at the art fair, it felt GREAT to be back in the saddle this morning. The sunrise started slow, but sure ended with a bang!!!
Here’s the Big Reveal… a new ZOMBIE has been added to The Ghouls Collection.
The “walking dead” are headed towards Barrington this weekend! The latest addition to The Ghouls Collection… perfect for your whimsically creepy Halloween decor!
Look who’s crawling out of the kiln!!!
The thronging masses of Zombies have gathered and are heading towards ART IN THE BARN in Barrington this weekend. Limited Edition of forty… get ’em before they die again!!!
