Finally flying over Chicago with a cold chill & snow all around.
Not quite sure what weather we’ll find on the other end?!

Another beautiful, albeit very chilly, day down on The Pier. It started out a bit gray & dreary & cold… and ended up with nothing but blue skies… and still very cold!!!

And a nice treat at the end of the day… a beautiful sunset skyline from the north doc of Navy Pier

What do you get when you put together over a million translucent balls?…
THE BEACH… an interactive new art installation now at Navy Pier!

As the snow came down and made the City white yesterday, it was so much fun to play at THE BEACHwhich was coincidentally also WHITE?!!! So much fun playing with my “Elves” with a sneak peek before it opened to the public. Over a million balls of fun – now at Navy Pier through February 3rd... and it’ s FREE!!!

When playing downtown, I’m always reminded…
some may call it Macy’s, but it will always be MARSHALL FIELDS to me!!!

So I finally got to ride over the newly-opened Navy Pier Fly-Over this morning! It’s a little steeper than I expected, with a goofy sharp turn at the still-unfinished south end just past Grand Avenue. I was emboldened by the ease of the Fly-Over… so I continued a lot further south than normal this morning.

Maybe a bad idea as my fingers & toes were FREEZING when I got home!!!
Still a bit stiff & tingling… but getting better as I type!

Another beautiful morning along the Lakefront…
albeit a bit cloudy & chilly. Downright frozen in some spots.
Luckily the streets and bike trail were all dry & clear… safe pedaling!!!

I’m always in awe of the decorative architectural treatments whenever I visit The Cadillac Palace Theatre. Such amazing craftsmanship… even the amazing dome over the audience with just a hint of hi-tech lighting encroaching.

Last night was a beautifully-perfect misty-foggy evening downtown. With a stroll through Daley Plaza and little pre-show Christkindlmarkt to get you in the holiday mood.

My morning ride started out dark & breezy. With one large cloud hovering low on the horizon. That cloud seemed to block most of the sunrise color, but a few wisps succeeded higher in the sky. Eventually the sun made it over the cloud and blue skies prevailed to illuminate the Fall colors along the bike path.
