Hello Gary
I just came across your work on Pinterest and it is really lovely. My husband and I are potters in Ontario and we are wondering what you use on the rims of your bowls to make the repeated design. It looks like it may have been made with a roulette, perhaps. Would you mind sharing your technique with fellow potters? We fire to cone 10, reduction. Cheers, Debbie Wales, EarthandfireFirePottery.ca
HEY DEBBIE –
I love to share!!! And I’ll give away any “secrets” I may have about how I make stuff. No worries. The rims of the bowls in this post were made mostly with thin dowel rods or chopsticks. I just press them in one-by-one-by-one all the way around. If you stay on my blog and go to the SEARCH area… type in “bowls” or “bowl demo” and you’ll see a LOT of bowl demos that I have done for my classes. MANY with textured, altered & stamped rims!!! Good luck… and I’m always open to more questions!!! Bring it on!!! – GARY
