Another Monday for making more mugs!!! Yep, after a busy weekend at ART IN THE GARDEN… there’s no rest for the weary! Gotta make more… more… more! I have another soda kiln to fill in a week and a half… yikes! Making more stuff for ART IN THE BARN!!!

And speaking of pumpkins… this was my night last night after the art fair…
a late night making more pumpkins for ART IN THE BARN!!!

After a couple hours of “Pottery-Tetris” last Friday night… the back stack was loaded, and then the front two-thirds loaded. It filled up pretty quick & might be a little tighter than I would like it to be?! But confident that I’ll be able to “push” the soda deep into the kiln during the firing. All stacked & ready to brick-up the door! And then home for the night…

So last Friday night, I rolled my studio cart down to the kiln room… via the jenky freight elevator… yikes! Everything arrived safely and I was all glazed & wadded… ready to start loading the soda kiln. The challenge is always to “squeeze in” as many pots a possible… while still leaving enough open spaces for proper air-flow through the kiln so the soda atmosphere can make its way though to hit all of the pieces! Here we go…. giddy-up!

Kinda diggin’ this early morning production thing! Cranking out some flower pots early this morning… before heading back outside to play this afternoon! Gotta get these moving… as ART IN THE GARDEN is now just two weeks away!

A very productive morning in the studio before 10am… cranking out another batch of mugs! Starting with a bagful of clay… and voila’… twenty mug cylinders!!! Lots of stamping to come!

So here they are for now… lots of new mugs with some of them “destined” to be part of our class trading & exchanging game for the final night of my Intermediate Wheel class. Still gotta lot to do… drying, bisque firing, glazing & firing again… with the deadline quickly approaching… giddy-up!

Today I stamped the cylinders that are going to become my “matching” mugs for class. I decided to turn them into two different sets… with two different “sets” of thrown cylinders that were closer to matching than the others. And then I stamped each “set” with a different stamp. Hoping that as I trim them & add handles, they will continue to get even more matchy-matchy!!!

Another early morning being productive in the studio… making more than 10 before 10:00am!!! Now I just have a lot of “detailing” to make them come to life!!!

I had a very productive afternoon in the studio after summer camping all morning! Did a bit of stamping & detailing with some colored flashing slips. Getting ready for two upcoming soda kiln firings!!! Gotta make more… gotta make more…
