Another gusty windy day in Chicago! A lot of leaves dropping from trees, flying around, swirling everywhere and eventually piling up in the darndest places!

Morning sun on my white African violet. A year ago at My Holiday Home Show, I was gifted this beautiful plant by Rick & Nancy in one of my own flower pots. It was a cutting propagated from the original plant that was Rick’s mother’s violet. Such a thoughtful gift in… and it has never stopped blooming! So beautiful… and surprising to have a flowering plant all the time!

Gusty winds seemingly from all directions this morning?!
It was CRAZY!!!

But crazy fun… I even laughed out loud a couple times.
Feeling like you’re going to be blown over…
or stopped in your tracks with a strong headwind!
So funny… but this sunrise made it all worthwhile!!!

So here’s a little photo quickie… the same glazed platter before & after the kiln firing!!! Big difference. Pretty sweet, huh?! Just one of the large platters available at MY HOLIDAY HOME SHOW this week!

Tonight in my Wheelthrowing class I surprised one of my students with some new clay jewelry!! Katie has been in my class for awhile, and has been playing with a lot of marbled clay this session. A few weeks back, she used the scraper to get a thin layer of marbled clay off her bat after removing the pot. She was going to just throw it in the reclaim, but I stopped her and told her she should make “something” out of it. It was such a cool slice of marbled clay. She didn’t feel like using it to make anything… but I did!!!

And Katie LOVED them… and immediately wore them in class!!!

Always great to see these four letters… one last kiln load fired & complete… fresh pots just in time for MY HOLIDAY HOME SHOW!
