Gotta love a yummy cupcake from Sprinkles… especially when your friend Katie brings it over as a surprise… and knows that I “might” just have a certain affection for OREO’s!!! Looking so fancy on a stamped & soda-fired platter… sadly, it just makes it look like I need MORE CUPCAKES!!! Ha!!! Thanks again Katie!!!

After the turkey… looks like my “second family” friends down in Chenoa had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday while using some of their pottery collection. From the looks of it, the turkey was great… and the pie looks yummy!

I was invited, but decided it was best to stay home & stay safe! Thanks for sharing your photos Kelly… and thanks again for the invite. I just wish I could have joined you all.

Oversized “order” pieces out of a bisque kiln… basking in the late afternoon sun… ready for some inlaid glaze! And a tenmoku liner glaze before heading into the soda kiln!

Gotta love when science & nature collide. Like this wonderful example of photosynthesis. I was first drawn to the vibrant red colors of this bush.

I was noticing how each leaf was a different color, a different shade of red… and even MORE dramatic when I moved a couple leaves to find a bright yellow spot.

A “void” on the red leaf because the sun wasn’t getting to all of the bottom leaf to change it to red! Isn’t Mother Nature AMAZING?!!!

Looks like a yummy success to me! It smells amazing, the leaves look golden brown… and nothing sunk into the pie!!! Gotta let it cool a bit… pull out the Cool Whip… and find a fork!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Giddy-up!

Yes, Cool Whip!!! Remember, I have the palate of a four-year old and I grew up with Cool Whip. So it has lots of good childhood memories attached. And it’s creamy-yummy on pumpkin pie… so I bought TWO!!!

Looks like one of my totem poles has taken on a festive Thanksgiving flair… but I might say that I think Chris now needs bigger pilgrims. HA!!!

So here’s my sweet baby ready to go into the oven! As I was adding decorations to the top… cuz’ MORE IS MORE… I started to wonder.

Maybe there’s a “reason” why pumpkin pies never have crust or decorations on top?! But I was already committed to it… but will the leaves start to sink in as it bakes??? Only one way to find out… let the baking begin!!!

I thought maybe a little pre-game kick-off for Thanksgiving was in order… as tomorrow might be the weirdest Thanksgiving Day ever!!! So I’m starting it off tonight with a Pumpkin Pie Concrete from LICKETY SPLIT. Pumpkin frozen custard with a piece of pumpkin pie blended in!!! I resisted… but oh, those pumpkin pie cookies are pretty darn adorable too!!!

Another mask finding its way from MY HOLIDAY HOME SHOW to a new full-time home! Looks like Don’s new ceramic mask has found a great spot in his house on a dark gray wall.
