Sure, probably three seconds on Google and you’d have my home address and ALL
of my personal information. But I sleep better not thinking about that.

Night two of glazing was quite productive. Things were literally stacking up.

After I added the wadding these pieces went onto my rolling studio cart to make room on the table to glaze even more! Especially since I’m glazing to fill my own soda kiln AND share a cone 10 glaze kiln with two other studio members. Glazing for two different kilns at the same time is a little daunting.

It’s amazing how fast 10-weeks flies by!
Tonight was the final class for my Beginning Wheel students. They were busy finishing up their pots, snacking at our potluck, chatting, laughing & hanging out. Basically solving all the problems of the world. And good thing we had plenty of sweets to keep everyone happy… especially me!!! I’ve trained them so well…

We finished our class with a “bowl” exchange game.
At some point we expanded the definition of “bowl” to any “vessel” they’ve made. Guess some students didn’t quite finish a bowl?! Anyway, after our “exchanging-trading-stealing” game, I came home with a great mug by one of my repeat students Nadine!!!

Tonight finished building and slip detailing six more casseroles.
They’re done & drying to go into next Tuesday night’s bisque kiln.
My last before next weekend’s soda kiln firing. Just in time for the Holiday Home Show!
Love making the whimsically shaped casseroles… and only one of them is a true oval!

It’s my biggest pottery sale of the entire year with pottery in every room of my place! Food & drink in the kitchen. And the ever-popular “Tired Of Shlepping Sale” on the back porch. It was fun to come into the Lillstreet Gallery this evening and see a great table setting FULL of dinnerware by my friend & potter Delores Fortuna. It’s not every day you get to see so much of Delores’ great pots all in one place!!!

Now that the Chicago Marathon is over, I’m back in the studio and re-focused.
No more distractions. No more training. No more need to “go for run.”
So now I’m focused on my next soda kiln… throwing pots and replenishing the basics!
Now let’s not get crazy… I’m still going to bike. Let’s be real.

So I threw a “bag” of mugs… this time a new 25-pound bag made twenty-one mugs!
And surprisingly, they dried pretty quickly… and I actually stamped them today as well.

I followed that up with a batch of oil lamps. This time a little more slender… as requested!
These were still too wet to stamp… so I wrapped them up and will stamp them tomorrow.

It’s always great to see my pottery out there being used.
So glad my friend Kelly is enjoying her wall pocket vase…
and keeping it full of beautiful Fall flowers!
