Also worked on these a bit more tonight… trimmed & rimmed… ready to start the character detailing tomorrow morning!!! It’s gonna be a LOT of work if I’m going to get them done in time for ART IN THE GARDEN. Limited edition of 40… I’m gonna try my darndest!!!

You know how I love a good challenge!!!

Okay, so we’re off to a good start… a very productive morning. We all know I work best with a deadline. These all need to be ready in a week… sheesh!!!… and there’s a LOT of detailing to be done if these are going to be the next addition to the collection!

Okay, so I’ve been wondering if I have time to finish these… typically they’re done in time for ART IN THE BARN. But since art fair that was cancelled months ago… I’m going to try to get them done for ART IN THE GARDEN next weekend. Here we go… fingers crossed… GIDDY-UP!!!

Well, apparently today was “small plate day”!!! Lots of bats. Lots of small plates. Just getting one step closer to ART IN THE GARDEN… still working on my collaboration project with my “cohort” Cory McCrory!

YEAH!!! The lids all fit… as you can now hear me exhale!

Throwing lidded jars in porcelain with lids that fit is not an easy task. A lot of caliper measuring & hoping for the best. My biggest piece of advice?… throw a lot of extra lids. Because inevitably a “few” of them are not going to fit the way you want them too!

Part two of my production today… the bottom jars to go with the new lids!!! The jar bottoms are a little further ahead as I just finished stamping them! Just hope the lids fit?… always said with fingers crossed.

Ten cylinders now have handles… making that ten fresh new mugs!!!
These are the same ones from my Tuesday night class challenge with Ashley… finished just in time for my Saturday morning class… with minutes to spare…

Categories: mugs, process, production

Gonna try to crank out some quick mug handles before class starts at 10:00am this morning! Pulling them is easy… it’s the attaching that takes forever… but who doesn’t like a good challenge???

Working in the studio this afternoon finishing up a few things, doing a bit of stamping, and making another batch of bowls… while soaking up as much FREE air conditioning as possible!!!

Categories: bowls, patterns, textures

After making a batch of ten basic bowls last Tuesday night… and showing them how to do some quick alterations to the rims to make each one unique. But then again, you know my mantra… MORE IS MORE!!! So I did some more!!! Some stamping & indenting of rims, adding patterns & textures… just to make them one small step over-the-top!

Here’s a few of the bowls… and the some of the tools I used to make the magic!

So for now, the ten bowls have all been “accented & detailed” a bit. They are back under plastic for the night as I hope to trim them tomorrow night.
