A couple new ceramic spoon rests on a pretty impressive stovetop. Now I really want to see what Joanne cooks here… and still keeps the stove this clean at the same time?!!! Thanks for sharing a bit of your kitchen Joanne!

With the Winter class session postponed for a week at Lillstreet Art Center, I know many students are missing their access to the pottery studio. But never fear… big things are happening while we wait it out. Many thanks to Bruce, Dave, the monitors and everyone else working at Lillstreet during the break to make things happen… like this BIG improvement!!!

For anyone who has taken a class in the new Wheel B room while there was a metalsmithing class going on next door… you’ll really appreciate this new solid wall with insulation all the way up to the ceiling BETWEEN the two rooms! Should make a big difference for everyone… and worth the wait!!!

After a bit of an extended holiday-hiatus, it felt great to slowly get back into the studio… watering plants… checking on projects still under wraps… spritzing… spraying… and making a new batch of handmade clay stamps for some of this year’s new textures & patterns!

Kickin’ off the New Year with some New Stamps!!!

While many people took down their Christmas decorations this past weekend, looks like my friend Roberta has been creating quite the “chandelier collection”… fun for the whole year! And I see one of my ornaments, as well as a chair ornament by my pal Cory McCrory… plus I found the pickle!!!

Another dark & dreary… oh wait, there it is!!!

The morning started out with huge cloud-cover… questioning if we would ever see the sun?! And then suddenly, the sun popped through… beautiful… even if just for a few minutes!

Looks like a perfectly warm & cozy dinner on a cold winter’s night… a little handmade Zuppa Toscano by my friend Julie!

Looks like Gerry is starting his day off with a healthy bowl of oatmeal with some cranberry relish on top! I’m sure it tastes better from a handmade ceramic bowl… although I still prefer my oatmeal as a COOKIE!!!! Thanks for sharing your breakfast & your pottery collection with us Gerry!

And another one finds it’s way out of the frozen cold… and into a warm home! This little fortune cookie was found sitting right on top of the entrance sign to south unit of Illinois Beach State Park.

More fortune cookies still out there…
in both the north & south units of the park!!!

Looks like one of my pottery students weathered the elements today for a little “fortune cookie scavenger hunt” up at Illinois Beach State Park. Good find Ashley… and thanks for sharing your wintery adventure with us!

Looks like the fortune cookie scavenger hunt is well under way. Last weekend I hid twenty-two handmade ceramic fortune cookies throughout Illinois Beach State Park to spread some “good fortune” for 2022. Looks like my friends Allison & Terry have found three of them… which makes nineteen more to find… so maybe today is a good day to head to the beach for a little scavenger hunt fun?!!!
