Remains of the day… hard to believe this “shadow” is still here a year later?! Time to do it again!!!
This past week, my THROWDOWN students brought their sets of nesting bowls back to class. The challenge was to see how well they nest… the sizing, the spacing, the design & overall craftsmanship. It’s one thing to see them side-by-side… but even cooler to see them trimmed & refined and STACKED!!! They all nestled so well. They did and AMAZING JOB!!! So many fine sets of nesting bowls… and remember, this was the first set of nesting bowls for all of them!!! Well done team… you guys are killin’ it this session!!!
A week & a half ago, in my LILLSTREET THROWDOWN class, I challenged my students to make a set of three nesting bowls in ninety minutes. None of them had EVER made a set of nesting bowls before… so it was the perfect challenge!!! And then towards the end of class there was a “twist”… and they got an additional twenty minutes to add a fourth nesting bowl. And it had to be the new smallest one!!! They all did AMAZING… and it was so impressive to see how many incredible bowls they all made in just one night! They even impressed themselves!!!
A special THANK YOU to everyone who came out to see us this weekend at our “4×4” gallery show in Evanston this weekend. It was exciting to show-off some new work made just for this show! Like some larger wall pieces & collaborations. Thanks again to all who made it out. We really appreciate your support & enthusiasm!
Another fun-filled day & night at “4×4 : FOUR MAKERS” yesterday… surrounded by some good friends, fans, followers & people admiring our artwork. We have one more day to share the fun…

A quick peek at my new textured tiles in rusty metal frames for the “4×4” gallery show. Handmade & soda-fired tiles. A perfect combo in my world… you know how much I love textured AND rusty metal!!!
With tons of textured, inlaid glazes, sprayed glazes & soda-firing effects… these “tiles” were all wired together to create my newest “tile tapestry.” Now hanging at the “4×4 : FOUR MAKERS” show this weekend. Lots of details & textures to see & feel… you’ll notice something new every time you see it!
And once again, a shout-out to MKM Pottery Tools for making textured handrollers with such a wide range of textures & patterns! Love ’em!!!
