Early morning skyline sunrise vibes.

Early morning moments… gears, shadows & rusty metal.
All playing together on my back porch.

It was quite crisp & cold this morning! As I headed-out on my bike, my weather app said it was a “feels like” temperature of 29-degrees!!! YIKES!!! Lots of layers for riding… and glad that I had brought my plants inside last night. Although I think we avoided our first frost… better safe than sorry!

What started out as a class demo on decorative carving… while sharing some of my favorite DiamondCore Tools… turned into this large decorative platter!!! With a thick band of white slip, carvings through the slip to reveal the clay body contrast… and little “berries” of clay on top. Sometimes deciding when to stop is the hardest part!!!

After the orchard this weekend, I came home with a full “peck” of farm-fresh apples. It’s amazing what a difference “fresh-off-the-tree” can be. These apples are delicious!!! And luckily, I had a great bowl to put them in!!!

Fall fun with family & friends last weekend at Christ Orchard in Elmwood, Illinois. Spent the day playing in the field searching for the coolest pumpkins & gourds. Playing with my Cousin Kim… and my “very first art fair friends” Rosene & Gerry! It’s always fun to get out of the City to play out in the farmlands… I think it’s quickly becoming an annual adventure!!!

After a great trip to an orchard & pumpkin farm this past weekend, there’s lot to share…
seasonal Fall favorites for a colorful TEXTURE TUESDAY!!!

We had a beautiful Fall weekend a couple days ago. Perfect for a roadtrip weekend down to Peoria to visit with friends. Oh yeah… and to re-visit the stamped & soda-fired totem pole in their front yard!! Look familiar???

Crisp & clear this morning. I had to pile on some layers as it was in the lower-forties as I head out the door for my morning ride. I’m not mentally ready for all of these layers so early in the season… I still want the warmth of Summer!!! Did I mention it was cold?!… long sleeves. jacket, gloves, hat under the helmet… the whole sh-bang!

Just a little early morning carving. A quick dinner plate with leatherhard white slip on the rim… before carving with my favorite carving tool from DiamondCore Tools.
