Working in the studio this afternoon making slabs & pressing textures with some of my MKM Pottery Tools. I love the clean patterns & impressions that these hand rollers make… great for the newest batch of “hybrid mugs” that I’m working on today! These slabs will be part of the “handbuilding” portion of my wheelthrown-handbuilt combo mugs!
You know how I LOVE textures… so these hand rollers from MKM Pottery Tools are some of my favorite tools in my studio! Sure they make great patterns when rolled onto clay… but even just as an object they’re pretty darn groovy too!!!
Not a 100% sure what I’m “celebrating” today…
But I’ll be “boxing up” the remains of my Holiday Home Shows today! I’ve been “living in a store” in my condo for two months now. I can’t wait to start putting it all away to reclaim my space.
And again, with a HUGE “Thank You” to everyone who stopped by and made it a little easier for me to pack up now with a LOT less pottery on the shelves!!!
While setting up for this weekend’s SECOND HOLIDAY HOME SHOW, I’ve got some new things to put out!! Not only do I have two kilns currently firing & cooling… but I’m restocking the shelves so there’s plenty of holiday gift ideas for everyone!!!
On the train headed towards the Merchandise Mart for the ONE OF A KIND SHOW! I’ll be helping my talented friend & metalsmith Sarah Chapman in Booth 2118. Be sure to stop by to see her amazing jewelry… or just to say “Hi!”
Sparkle. Jolly. Twinkle. Jingley.
Perfect Christmas lights for another TEXTURE TUESDAY!
Celebrating a little TEXTURE TUESDAY with some stamped & soda-fired textures! I love how the soda kiln help accentuate all of the textures kinda randomly… and yet I can still get the fun colors to POP!!! Not every soda-fired piece of pottery has to be dark gray, white or brown!!! Just sayin’…
Fall is definitely here… and leaves there are a-fallin’!
Loving the colors & textures… so different on every leaf.
Yesterday was the last Andersonville Farmers Market of the season… and I had to swing by to “stock-up” on a few things that might last me awhile. Including some apples fresh from the orchard. My plan was to get one apple of several different varieties to try some new flavors. It wasn’t until I got home and put them out on this platter that I “realized” that I have no idea what kind each one is?! So if I do LOVE a new variety… I’ll have no idea what kind it is!!! ugh.
Beautiful colors & wonderful textures… perfect for Texture Tuesday!
