It was SO good to see colorful sunrise clouds again… and the crashing waves didn’t hurt any either! It was a big sky morning… which required a big sky photo!!!

Though we’re still in the last few days of Summer, this morning definitely felt like a crisp Fall day! I even had to pull out the long sleeves & gloves!!! But it was well worth it… another fun bike ride with a LOT of stuff going on along the lakefront. Lots of clouds. Lots of wind. LOTS of waves!!! Not to mention the amazing colors!!!

Dark & cloudy with waves crashing all around. It seemed like the “smoky-haze” has mostly moved on… only to be replaced with a chilling wind & dark gloomy clouds! Tough pedaling this morning as the wind seemed to be coming at me from every direction!

Another morning with that hazy-smoky “filter” across the sky. It’s kinda weird to see the sun rising without a single cloud in the sky… and yet still somehow oddly “clouded” and NOT bright & shiny like one would expect it to be.
And if we’re having this kind of effects from the California wildfires here in Chicago… I can only imagine how much worse it gets as you get closer to the actual fires. Just one more thing making 2020 so “special” for everyone!!!

Another foggy-hazy morning along the lakefront… except we found out yesterday it is neither fog nor haze!!! Apparently the crazy “sky filter” is actually smoke & ash that has made it up into our higher atmosphere all the way over from the California wildfires!!!! Who knew?!
Something new… just to make 2020 even more “special”!!!

I had hoped for a beautifully sunny day like yesterday… apparently not so much. Instead we got a lot of gray… and maybe just a small splash of red (which I brought with myself).

Well, it’s been so gray & rainy for the past three days. So when it was gray & NOT rainy this morning I had to hop on the bike and give it a go! Sure, it was dark, gloomy & WINDY with waves crashing all around… I just kept thinking how much cooler they would have looked with a nice sunrise illuminating them from behind. Well, not today. But it still felt amazing to be back on my bike this morning… even with the strong headwinds!!!

Like we even need to say this???…

And now back home, waiting for the rain to begin again for the day…
Sometimes a bigger sunrise requires a bigger panoramic photo
to capture the morning sky show!

Kickin’ off my Labor Day Holiday with another sunrise bike ride… shocker, right?! It was a serene & pastoral start to the ride, but ended with a dramatic clouded sky show! Happy Labor Day everyone!!!… even if it is the “official” end of Summer. 🙁

Yesterday’s ride had another dark start… as I needed to get home earlier than normal. The clouds were hanging low on the horizon, and I began to wonder if we would ever see the sun. It took awhile… but it was well worth the wait!!!
