Clouded judgement. Sure, I probably “should have” been doing something more productive…. like prepping, pricing & packing for this weekend’s art fair… or even sleeping?… but let’s just say… my sunrise biking addiction is real!!! Usually it pays off with a glorious sunrise of some sort… today, not so much. Some great dramatic clouds… and I always feel great after riding. But it wasn’t as beautiful as I was hoping for… sometimes these crazy cool clouded mornings pay-off with crazy colored skies… but not today!

After today’s windy morning ride with plenty of dramatic clouds & splashing waves…
we were eventually treated to a delayed sunrise when the clouds finally let the sun
appear for a brief moment.

sometimes bigger skyshows just need bigger photos!!!

Sheesh…. this sunrise seems so long ago?! Somehow the day got away from me… what with working & Ghouls & teaching… oh my! So I finally got home from class and realized I hadn’t posted my morning photos yet?! So here they are… and I hope they were worth the wait. I loved the quiet calmness this morning. And the perfectly still water giving us some spectacular reflections & glistening colors. Beautifully quiet & serene along the lake this morning… and a beautiful sky show too… STUNNING!!!

After a fun birthday dinner for my Dad last night, with far too much pizza & ooey-gooey-fudgey-marshmallowey-birthday cake… I was looking forward to a nice morning ride to compensate for last night’s festivities! I was a couple miles in when the rain started… although nothing was listed on my weather app?! So I aborted that plan & started to head home in the rain. But then the rain stopped… so I continued north instead. We never got a real sunrise to speak of… but the clouds were nice. And I still managed to get in some good mileage!!!

Just loving these last few days of Summer!
The weather was AMAZING again this morning…
warm & humid with a gentle breeze for an easy ride home.

Another quiet sunrise morning. Very little breeze. Very little movement. It felt very “quiet” as I pedaled along the lakefront. At least until we had a nice moment with the sun rising behind one of Chicago’s “water cribs” out in the lake. Sometimes… timing is everything!

A quiet morning along the beach. Not much in the way of clouds… until a wispy patch of pastel clouds popped up out of nowhere?! And then it was back to a low-flying layer of clouds on the horizon with silhouettes of a lighthouse & sea grasses.

Not much in the way of clouds this morning… just some great criss-crossing contrails to make the sunrise special. Another warm morning… kinda feels like summer is hanging on a little longer! And I’m definitely here for it!!!

Just clear sailing up & down the lakefront bike trail this morning.
