Could it get any darker?… well, it seems to get darker & darker each day…

As the sun continued to rise, the sky took on a beautiful pastel pink color.
I especially liked the stark contrast of the dark clouds hovering out there.

But then, almost as soon as it started, the pink coloring began to dissipate.
And blue skies kept poking through… everywhere except where those wonderful
dark clouds were still hanging on. Great contrast in the morning sky!

It felt like we were honored with a special “second sunrise” of sorts.
Beautiful pastel skies followed by a stunning sunrise with nicely contrasting clouds!

Plus, another milestone this morning… I finally retired my old pair of biking shoes!
They’ve traveled many miles with me over the years. And I’ve known they needed to be
replaced for quite awhile now. But you know how you an old pair of shoes fits perfectly?!
Well these ones do too. But they’re beat up, ripped up, sewn back together, and worn down
to bare structure in some of the most important places… like the heels!

So this morning was the inaugural “virgin voyage” for my new biking shoes.
And luckily, these new ones fit pretty well too!!! Here’s to the miles to come…
and a special thanks to these shoes that have served me so well!

It started out dark & dreary.
And I assumed it would stay like that all morning.

Luckily, I was wrong!

There was a beautiful orange “spike” across the horizon line this morning.
The shape, the color and the gradation were quite striking. Unfortunately, as with every
sunrise, it was fleeting as the sun continued to rise and the clouds dissipated so pastel
colors could be splashed across the sky.

Eventually the sun did peek out… as the clouds kind of opened up for the show!

After just standing around on my feet for a couple days at the art fair, it felt great
to get back out on my bike this morning. Even though it was unseasonably cold.
Cold enough that I not only went for long sleeve jersey & long sleeved windbreaker…
but I also had gloves, skull cap AND long pants for the first time this season!!!

But all of the layers were worth it… another beautiful Fall morning.
And yes, it is now officially Fall… and I need to admit to myself that Summer is over!
Although I will hold onto Summer as long as possible… kicking & screaming…

The morning started out dark with a indigo sky. As the sun continued to rise,
so did the clouds as the sky took on a bluer hue.

Another dark morning. And oddly, it seems to be getting darker every morning, doesn’t it?!

Yet I know that a few miles down the road, the sun will start to rise, the sky will brighten
and it will be another beautiful bike ride. And even though the sky never turned to vibrant
shades of orange, and the sun never quite broke through, it is still the best way to start the day!

Early. Dark. Chilly. Clouded. Potential… all of my favorites…
But let me just say, I’m totally looking forward to the time change when we Fall back!

With such sweeping clouds in the sky, I knew we were going to be in for a treat.

I really enjoyed how there were several dark clouds layered in front of the glowing orange sky.

As the sun continued to come up, the clouds began to brighten and spread across the sky.

And yet… the dark clouds were still hovering in front of the sunrise… nice contrast!!!

And then the sun finally made it and broke through… kinda of…
luckily, there was still a low layer of clouds that created a golden, glittery sunrise!

After two days of incredible sunrises, I knew it would come to an end.
Not that this one wasn’t good… it just wasn’t quite up to par. I was hoping… and hoping…
but the dramatic clouds never quite lit up. They kind of just petered out into grayness.
