As we flip into September, is is quite noticeable that the sunrise is getting later & later… as more & more of my ride is now in darkness. Not a big deal today as the sun never quite made it out from behind the clouds. But I think a beautiful skyline may just make up for that?!!!

It was another cloudy morning. Tons of potential… could go either way…

Turns out the clouds were a bit “stronger” than expected and they decided to stick around all morning. Luckily, they did pretty incredible things as they reflected off the Lake.

Towards the end of my ride, the sun finally made it out. A low-flying glow in the sky adding a shimmer across the water.

And as if that weren’t enough…
I also found FREE MONEY on the lakefront this morning. Whoo-hoo!!!

And now back to the art fair…
a quick shower, breakfast and I’m back to “Art In The Garden.”

After two days a GORGEOUS…
this morning there was no sign of a sunrise ever happening.
Just a lot of clouds. And a lot of wind.

Let’s just say, the ride back home was a LOT of fun.
The first half riding south… not so much.

Another dark morning. Another foreboding cloud on the horizon.
Just a sliver of color below one REALLY big cloud!!!

But this time morning was a little bit different… as there were waves splashing all around.

And if the waves are crashing in like this up at Foster Beach, I could only imagine what the waves must be doing down at Belmont Harbor where they are typically even stronger. So I pedaled fast to get there before the sun got up too high.

And yes… the waves were even better… and the sun was getting ready to pop through…

Once the sun came up, it got “caught” in the waves and really made them pop… sometimes even changing the color of the water… nothing better than ORANGE WAVES!!!

Then, as the sun got up even higher, the orangeness in the sunrise dissipated, as did the orange waves! Luckily, everything took on a beautiful golden glow as the waves continued to crash & splash in all around me. Bike?… not getting much in today as it was more fun trying to catch the waves with my camera. I can pedal again tomorrow… but these waves may not be here again for awhile.

I wish you could hear these… and feel the fine mist as it sprayed over me…
carefully covering my camera after every wave.

And one final splash for the road… FANTASTIC!!!

Lots of dark clouds this morning on the horizon.
Made me keep questioning if we would ever see the sun?

We saw the glow, some sunbeams, some reflections (and some skyline)… but never any real sun?!!!

And then at some point, the sun was behind the clouds and it opened up and kind of looked like an upside-down sunrise of some sort?! With sun rays shooting down instead of the typical “shooting up.”

After yesterday’s Triathlon, it felt great to get back on the bike this morning to work out a few kinks… and know that the “training” is done and now I can ride again JUST FOR FUN!!!

Another calm morning. You can almost hear the quiet.
The perfect morning to “catch”the red lights…

And then the sun crested the horizon and a golden glow crept into the sky.

Beautiful reflections across the rippled water.
