Not a “sweet” night for the Cubs last night.
But at least we had some sweet treats in my pottery class last night. Thanks Stacey!!!

A beautifully warm Fall day… perfect for pumpkins, gourds and Fall fun at Lincoln Park Zoo!!!

And quite possibly the BEST rusty manhole cover EVER?!!!

After a wonderful “birthday weekend” in Louisville…
it was fun to come back to reality and find some birthday fun waiting for me at the studio.
First I found some goodies waiting for me in my studio. Thanks to my friend Pam
for the yummy birthday treats!!!

And then Katie in my pottery class surprised me with a HUGE frosted chocolate chip cookie!
Yum. Let’s just say… GONE!!!

My teaching assistant Susan brought back some chocolate for us from her recent Scandinavian vacation! She said all of the OREO cookies were just like ours… but then she found these chocolate candy bars with actual OREO’s crushed up inside! Yum… and more yum!!!

Is it so wrong that I went to my favorite restaurant for dinner again tonight?
This evening it was Tortellone Con Salsa di Noce… a wonderful tortellone filled with creamy gorgonzolla cheese, then tossed with grapes in a walnut pesto cream sauce. Yum… oh yeah, and more hot caramel sauce for dessert. But I did show some restraint and did NOT come home with any more jars of their homemade caramel sauce!!! Sadly, they’re only open for two more dinner services… get there quick before they close for good!!!

Another wonderful dinner tonight at my very favorite restaurant… ROSE ANGELIS. Great food, good friends, incredible caramel sauce. Sadly, after 25 years, they have decided to close the restaurant this Saturday. I’m hoping to get back for at least one more dinner before then. But if not, I’ve already started hoarding their caramel sauce!!!

Five jars… hoping for more!!!

Last night was another “sweet” night in my wheelthrowing class. My teaching assistant Stacy found the elusive Swedish Fish OREO’s!!! They were a fine compliment to our weekly “sugar overload” with Key Lime Pie OREO’s and Halloween OREO’s!!! We were throwing pots all hyped up on sugar!!! Wow that class went fast!!!

Last night was the kick-off of a new session of classes at Lillstreet.
My class is full of returning “beginners” so this session might be a bit more challenging… for them. Ha!! At least we had some OREO’s “returning” as well. Pumpkin Spice and the new “Choco Chip” which oddly tasted more like maple than chocolate chip cookies?!

And we are still on the quest to find the latest new flavor “Swedish Fish Oreos.” We can’t find them anywhere here in Chicago?!!! What’s up with that?

Wonderful dinner at my favorite restaurant with two of my favorite besties Sarah & Pam.
And when there’s not quite enough hot caramel sauce on your dessert…
an additional bowl of caramel makes everything sweeter!
