On a full & dreary rainy morning… it’s nice to kick-off the day with a pop of Spring colors in the neighborhood! Beautiful azaleas blooming just around the corner!

Spring is in the air… and we’re at the end of our “forsythia season” with most bushes petering-out. But I found a “protected” one this morning still in full bloom. So nice to see Nature’s colors again… other than the “gray & brown” of late Winter!

Weed or flower?… not quite sure???

But this cute little guy is a welcome addition either way!!!
A fun pop of yellow in the garden during early Spring!

Another warm Spring day… and it looks like little Theo may have found the first dandelion of the season! Luckily, he had the perfect little vase to put it in!!! Thanks for sharing Allyn!

Second day of Spring… and I’m already loving our little heatwave & so are the early-Spring flowers!

Morning sun streaming in… catching a wonderful pop of red as my waxed amaryllis bulb is in full bloom!!!

Looks like my Thanksgiving Cactus has finally decided to bloom. It’s always been so full of blooms for my Holiday Home Show in late November. But this year?… no blooms, no buds, nothing!!! But now, in the middle of February it decides o pop-out a flower or two?!!! Go figure…. better luck next year!

Hope you’ve all had a wonderful day. Here’s a little vintage Valentine fun from my friends in Peoria. Celebrating with one of my early pieces… one of the largest vases I was so excited to finally make on the wheel. And a single row of fairly tentative stamping round the edge… kinda hidden by the glaze. But nonetheless… a nice “vintage” vase for special a Valentine’s Day!!!

Looks my new waxed amaryllis bulb has been enjoying a couple days of sun. Feels weird to NOT be watering it at all?! But I guess that’s one of the novelties of a “waxed” bulb? Looks like we might be a couple days away from the first flower!!! Thanks again to Kathy for this floral fun!

So I received an amaryllis bulb as a belated Christmas gift from one of my students this week. And it’s “wax-covered”… like a babybel cheese?! Anyway, so there’s no dirt, no roots & no water??? Wait, what??? Just put it in the sun & watch it grow? Really??? Goes against everything we know about caring for plants? I can’t wait see how this one plays out. Thanks Kathy for my new houseplant intrigue!!!
