Another wonderful installment from the folks at Cirque du Soleil… and even better… this time it’s a SING-A-LONG!!! And for those of you who don’t already know the words… like I do… they’ll run the words along the bottom so you can sing along too! They feature quite a few of their shows in this montage… only two of which I haven’t seen live!

This time they share with us scenes from ALEGRIA, KOOZA and KA.
This time I’m three-for-three… kinda…

I haven’t yet seen the re-imagined 35th anniversary ALEGRIA which is seen here in this special. And it’s kind of a sore subject… I got tickets as a Christmas gift for during their run here in Chicago this summer… which has already been cancelled due to this crazy pandemic!!! So, until things clear up a lot more… this may be as close as we get to Le Grand Chapiteau for awhile!!!

Well, it’s finally Friday!!!… so we made it through another week of this craziness. To celebrate, or at least create a short diversion for awhile… the folks at Cirque du Soleil have posted another video special to help us pass the time. This week it’s clips from AMALUNA, BAZAAR and VOLTA.

Two out of three for me… I just haven’t had a chance to see BAZAAR anywhere live?!

Last week we kicked-off our holiday adventures with a stop at The Chicago Theater to see a brand new holiday show by my favorite Cirque du Soleil… “TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE. A fun night of holiday acrobatics & festive cheer. Okay, not quite as good as a full-on show under Le Grand Chapiteau… but still a fun holiday evening nonetheless!

The circus is back in town!!! And last night we had a wonderful night under Le Grand Chapiteau for an exciting performance of Cirque du Soleil’s new show “VOLTA”!!! We had a great picnic along the lakefront before the show, and were surprised to find the whole place engulfed in fog after the show. Another wonderful night with my favorite Cirque du Soleil… under their new gray & white tent!!!

Everyone was taking their photos… including my friend Pam!

And the fog rolled in… and created a glowing haze over Le Grand Chapiteau!

Last night we went to see the latest Cirque du Soleil production. This time they’ve combined ice skating with acrobatic arts in the new show called “CRYSTAL.” It was an interesting production that unfortunately left me a little cold. Not quite as exciting as the more “traditional” shows under Le Grand Chapiteau.

After the show… the lights came on and the Zamboni came out to clean up the ice!

With LUZIA – the latest touring show from Cirque du Soleil.

With the latest touring show LUZIA fusing the sound of luz (light in Spanish) and lluvia (rain in Spanish) – two elements at the core of the show. And what better way than with actual rain falling inside the tent… in graphic patterns literally made by the raindrops!!! Amazing!!!

And a large illuminated backdrop for the stage… ever-changing and ROTATING too!!!

And a large papel picado tube that dominates as the centerpieces at the end of Act One…
surrounded by authentic Mexican musicians, and a singer whose dress literally blooms in front of your eyes!!!

Another amazing evening. Another amazing show.
Cirque du Soleil never fails to impress.

As a small added bonus, we even had a celebrity sitting right behind us!

It was fun to chat “all things Cirque” with L&O’s “Lt. Van Buren” after the show.

Just one day away…
for tomorrow night we get to go under Le Grand Chapiteau
for the latest touring production from Cirque du Soleil. My favorite!!!
