Quiet waters & shimmering reflections… that’s how I’m gonna sum it up today.
The weather forecast for Day Two of the GLENVIEW SUMMER ART FAIR seems to be “beautiful & partly cloudy”… which also worked great for this morning’s sunrise bike ride. I love when there are some good clouds for the sun to play with. Changing the colors & layers throughout the morning. Making the ride a little tougher than it needs to be… as I just “need” to stop more often to capture the ever-changing sunrise effects!!! … oh shucks.
Early morning glow with clear skies all around.
Quiet & serene, with just a bit of a chill in the air.
A beautiful start to the day!!!
After a few days & nights of crazy storms in Chicago, it was nice to get up this morning for beautiful start to what looks like a beautiful day. There are still flooded streets, branches down & washed out areas along the beaches… but it looks like the sun is coming out to play today!
With a sky full of clouds this morning, I kind of wondered if we would even get to see the sun at all today?! And then the colors started… and didn’t stop until the AMAZING sky show was complete!!! It was another early start to the day, and well worth every minute. Anyone looking out a half hour later would have seen nothing but gray clouds for the rest of the morning!
With just a simple wisp of colored clouds, the morning turned out to be calm & clear. The perfect chance to pedal down to Promontory Point & back… before the craziness of NASCAR downtown sets in today!!!
Another splash-tastic morning along the lake. Not a cloud in the sky, but plenty of “entertainment” along the shoreline as the waves came crashing in.
It was quite splash-splashy along the lakefront this afternoon. All of the beaches were flying red caution flags as the waves were dangerously high. But I didn’t care… clear skies & smooth sailing on my newly fixed-up “non-crunchy” bike all along the lakefront bike trail!
Huge THANKS to the fix-it guys at VILLAGE CYCLE CENTER. I was in need of a sudden repair service yesterday… beyond crusty & crunchy! So bad that people were staring & I felt like it was just gonna fall apart if I pedaled too hard! Ha! And today I was back on the road with some new parts & pieces… pedaling smoothly & silently. All thanks to Rus, the team… and my favorite bike shop in Chicago in Old Town.
