Looks like it’s time to get some glaze on! Everything is finally painted with underglaze… so now it’s time for a layer of clear glaze to make everything shiny & more vibrant.

Like I didn’t have enough to do before this weekend…
so why not crank out another batch of festive kid’s necklaces?!
I like to do a fun little “art sale” for the 10 & under kids who come out to ART IN THE BARN. These will all be pendants on necklaces for the kids… and if they make an “art choice” & pay for them “themselves”… then they get ’em for a dollar!!! But if it’s an adult buying them… well, then they’re FULL PRICE!!! I want the kids to be able to buy their own art. To make a choice. To step-it-up & make a purchase. To interact. To admire something enough to choose to take it home. You’re never too young to start appreciating handmade crafts. Time to start their own art collection… and wear a groovy fun necklace at the same time!!!
So much cuter… errr, I mean “creepier”… with more colored accents!!! Love ’em or hate ’em… no matter what your take on clowns is… I’ll have forty of them coming to ART IN THE BARN this weekend. They’re a Limited Edition… and when they’re gone, they’re gone… just like all of the the Ghouls who have come before them!
Hair we go… err, I mean HERE we go… with some bright color starting with the hair!!!
Getting some color onto the clowns as well.
Starting with a nice base-coat of white underglaze… the roar of the greasepaint…
with more colors to come…
All colored… so now I just need to get some clear glaze on them. And since they’re terra cotta, I can do a single firing to get them done in time for ART IN THE BARN this weekend!!!
Spending some time this morning painting pumpkins!
Adding some fun underglaze accents to this quickie-last-minute batch of terra cotta pumpkins!
And just in case the “big reveal” was not revealing enough?…
Well here’s a few better pictures of this year’s newest Ghoul…
everybody’s favorite… a CREEPY CLOWN!!!
Okay, so at some point the “big reveal” has got to happen! And production has been coming along nicely… so here we go! The first “glimpse” at this year’s addition to The Ghouls Collection! Every year I add a new character to the collection of Halloween favorites… just in time for ART IN THE BARN!!! Sure, they still have a ways to go… more details, colors & glaze… but I think I’m on track to get them done in time. Sure, they might still be warm out of the kiln… but as long as they make it there, right??? HA!!
