Carving another bowl with my favorite DiamondCore Tools! I started with an ombre’ blend of colored slips from blue to white… and then when it was a drier leatherhard, it was time to start carving a pattern through it! Pretty pleased with it so far… and I’m thinking I need to start making MORE of these!!!
A single yellow rose sitting beautifully on a stamped & soda-fired ikebana vase.
Mark your calendars for this weekend in Hinsdale… another weekend, another art fair! We’re in a beautiful park this time with plenty of trees, flowers & a fountain in the middle! I’m in the same spot as usual, so swing by and say “Hi.”
I’ve been nurturing this little peony bush for a couple years starting with a little sapling in my garden. So excited that this year it FINALLY bloomed!!! Okay, so it’s only two blooms… but I’ll take it. And hope for more next year!!!
Dramatic clouds to start the morning… with a little “window” of opportunity. I kept hoping that the sunrise would align with that window… and it almost did!!! But not quite. Yet still a beautiful morning for a morning ride!!!
We’re now just two weeks away from the NORTHERN ILLINOIS POTTERY TOUR. So mark your calendar for June 8th & 9th to go road-trippin’ arounf northern Illinois to see a lOT of great pottery. I will once again be hanging out at the Sandwich location… at my friend Cory McCrory’s home & studio. Check out the website for locations & information – https://www.northernilpotterytour.com/
Celebrating another MUGSHOT MONDAY with a bunch of new stamped & soda-fired mugs! There’s a whole new batch to prep, price & pack for next weekend at the HINSDALE FINE ART FAIR.
It’s the “morning after”… and my art fair tent roof & sides appear to be dry.
Well, they also appear to be straight out of a scene from “Dexter”… but who’s counting???
While the Schaumburg Prairie Arts Festival was washed out today, at least my booth flowers still look good! And as things would have it, about an hour after I got home, the rain stopped & the sun came out with blue skies & fluffy white clouds!!!
Let me just say we were washed out!!! Some people packed up first thing this morning. While some of us troopers decided to hunker down, wait out the rain & hope for better weather after the storm passed. But alas… with thunder & lightning, the organizers called it off. Luckily, there wasn’t much wind so we all felt safe & soggy as we packed up our displays & tents in the rain. Home early… and draping my tent parts all over the place so they can dry before packing them up for next weekend in Hinsdale!
