Colorful fun… colorful reflections… yummy gummies!
Another one of the benefits of Lillstreet postponing the start of our Winter session by a week… the overflowing buckets of reclaim clay from last session should be taken care of! Fresh new reclaimed clay for everyone!!! Hopefully.
And let me just say…
This pile of overflowing clay would NEVER have happened if my Summer Campers were still around! They love pushing it through the grate… breaking it down into smaller pieces as intended! This pile-up would never have happened in my camp!!!
Looks like Kristy has been getting creative in her kitchen again… baking up a yummy loaf of Cheddar & Jalapeno Bread. Looks so good… and what could be better? Homemade bread on a handmade plate!
Not sure what’s going on with this angry cardboard box at loading dock Sky 15?… but it made me smile… and then run away in fear… all the while giggling?!!!
Enjoying some more of nature’s beauty, colors & textures inside the Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier again today. Such a nice escape during these freezing cold winter days!
After about a month of slowly drying under plastic, this class demo platter from last session was a bit drier than I would like it to be. Things dry over time, right?! Good thing my DiamondCore Tools are sharp enough to trim their way right through the stiff clay!
A couple new ceramic spoon rests on a pretty impressive stovetop. Now I really want to see what Joanne cooks here… and still keeps the stove this clean at the same time?!!! Thanks for sharing a bit of your kitchen Joanne!
With the Winter class session postponed for a week at Lillstreet Art Center, I know many students are missing their access to the pottery studio. But never fear… big things are happening while we wait it out. Many thanks to Bruce, Dave, the monitors and everyone else working at Lillstreet during the break to make things happen… like this BIG improvement!!!
For anyone who has taken a class in the new Wheel B room while there was a metalsmithing class going on next door… you’ll really appreciate this new solid wall with insulation all the way up to the ceiling BETWEEN the two rooms! Should make a big difference for everyone… and worth the wait!!!
After a bit of an extended holiday-hiatus, it felt great to slowly get back into the studio… watering plants… checking on projects still under wraps… spritzing… spraying… and making a new batch of handmade clay stamps for some of this year’s new textures & patterns!
Kickin’ off the New Year with some New Stamps!!!
While many people took down their Christmas decorations this past weekend, looks like my friend Roberta has been creating quite the “chandelier collection”… fun for the whole year! And I see one of my ornaments, as well as a chair ornament by my pal Cory McCrory… plus I found the pickle!!!
