Porcelain handles pulled… just setting up a bit before I start attaching. I like to sit them up in an arched curve as they stiffen up – so that the majority of the bending is already done so there’s less cracking if they dry out a bit too much.

Porcelain cylinders need porcelain handles to make them into porcelain mugs, right?! So this morning I’m making some handles out of these little nuggets of porcelain.

Let the trimming begin!!!…
and have I mentioned lately that I LOVE trimming?! Yep, I do.

Just a little morning stamping session… adding a few impressed patterns & textures into the simple porcelain cups! Many of which “might” just turn into mugs fairly soon… allegedly…

All wedged up… no more green… one bag of reclaimed porcelain already turned into wheelthrown cylinders. Under wraps for the night… might just get some stamping done tomorrow! Maybe.

It also looks like a Girl Scout may have stopped in my studio while I was out playing… and “may have” left a few sweet snacks for me! I love cookie season… THIN MINTS all the way!!! And always willing to try a new S’more Cookie… if I must…

Well, it looks like I’ve got some rather “ripe” porcelain reclaim clay piling up here in my studio. Nice & green… who knows… mold?… algae?… could be full-on seaweed at this point?! Either way, it’s going to wedge up great and all of that “bonus” color will burn away in the bisque firing.

FREE RECLAIM CLAY is always good… regardless of the color!!!

Today is the first day of March, and therefore also the first day of MUG MADNESS on Instagram. It’s a fun mug competition hosted by Saltstone Ceramics. Two “team captains” picked their teams and now there will be daily “battles” on their Instagram feed… top vote-getters move on to the next bracket until there’s a winner. Sadly, I was chosen as an Alternate… perhaps #65??? So close… but didn’t quite make the cut. It will still be fun to play along as MUG MADNESS starts today!!! Be sure to follow their daily Instagram Stories to play along!!!

Kicking off March with a wonderful morning bike ride! I had hoped for it to be a bit warmer… but I guess that will come later today?! They were predicting 50-degrees for today… but for the morning ride it was still a bit chilly & breezy… and beautiful!!!
