Latest bisque kiln unloaded… and here’s my new pile of porcelain pieces.
Now it’s time to start waxing the bottoms!!!

Not much in the way of clouds this morning. Just a low flying layer that delayed the sunrise a bit… but then we got beautiful ripples of orange reflections.

With Spring finally here… one of my orchids is getting ready to re-blossom for the first time ever! Kind of exciting for an orchid novice like myself…

Today I loaded another electric kiln full of greenware for the first bisque firing.
It seems like I’ve just been making “stuff” in my studio for the past few months.
I had no idea that it had accumulated to this amount of work?! Who knew?!

Kiln Layer #1 – Mugs. Mugs… And more MUGS!!!

Kiln Layer #2 – More mugs, and a couple bowls.

Kiln Layer #3 – More mugs, bowls, tiles and a couple oil lamps.

Kiln Layer #4 – More mugs, some small teabowls, tiles and ikebana rounds.

It amazes me every time – how FAST the kiln fills up!!!
I still have about a half a kiln’s worth of greenware that DIDN’T fit in?! Next time…

Tonight was the last night of our Winter Session of my Wheelthrowing class.
To celebrate, we did a fun “white elephant” trading-stealing-exchanging game with plates. Everyone made a plate, and brought it in to trade & exchange with someone else in class. Along with that fun, we also had a potluck full of goodies. I considered making some kind of “green food” to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.  But then I thought everyone would much rather enjoy some yummy gooeyness. So I decided to make a new dessert using three of my all-time favorite foods!!!

Brownies…   Oreos…   and S’mores!!!

The chocolatey gooeyness started with a layer of graham crackers…
then a layer of brownie batter.

Then a layer of Oreo’s… and why not take it one step further with Double-Stuff Oreos?!!!

Then some min-marshmallows mixed into the remainder of the brownie batter.

Layered over the Oreo’s and baked… FYI : longer than the recipe called for…

When it came out of the oven, I added another layer of mini-marshmallows…

And then every potter’s dream… FUN WITH FLAMES!!!
A quick stint in the broiler to brown & toast the marshmallows.
Nothing says s’mores better than the smell of toasting marshmallows!!!

Gooey. Yummy. Toasted… I let them cool off and then cut them carefully & stick-ily!!!

Sure, there may be plenty of Oreo’s in the layers… but the few left in the package also worked well around the plate as an ever-yummy garnish!!!

If you want to make S’More Oreo Brownies  too…
here’s the recipe as I found it online… Very sweet, very yummy… Enjoy!

Here’s a little “Uptown Funk” to jazz up your otherwise dreadful time on the treadmill.
Wonder if we could add this into the CrossFit rotation next week?!… if nothing else, purely
for entertainment value as I can’t do much more than go forward without falling off!!!

And no, just for the record, I will NOT be adding this to my workout routine.
But in case you missed it the first time…

A day early… yet still a yummy treat at the “halfway point” of our bike ride.
Nothing like a little minty-chocolate treat to make the next 18 miles go faster!
