It’s a wonderful star! Really like it! Just wondered,is it glazed everywhere, or the back remained unglazed? Isn’t it too heavy for the tree to hold?
ENIKO – Thanks! And for the record, I kinda like it too! Yes, it is “glazed” on both sides… kinda. It was fired in the soda kiln. So the shiny “glaze” is the result from the soda atmosphere in the kiln. I stand them up on two points and lean them against a very skinny, pointed prop. That way it gets good soda coverage on both sides. The only traditional glaze on it is inlaid into the stamped impressions. And no, it is not too heavy to hang on a tree. The star is hollow – and made with two very thin slabs of clay. Thanks for checking in!
