Gary Jackson: Fire When Ready Pottery
A Chicago potter’s somewhat slanted view of clay & play

So there’s been a lot of “stray” bisque piling up in my studio. Lots of leftover pieces that didn’t fit into my last firing. So I’ve decided to share a cone 10 glaze kiln this coming week. Now I’ve got a lot of glazing to do… and most people know how much I hate glazing!!!

Gary, I too hate to glaze, but I love doing glaze tests. And I am eagerly awaiting your recipe! My bisque pile does at times loom over me begging me to glaze.

Keep up the good work.

I, too, hate glazing. I find the “making” part so much more dynamic and interesting. Even though it pains me to admit it, I sometimes procrastinate on the glazing part, though I never let myself get away with it for long!

HEY SAM – Anytime you want to do some glaze testing for me… I’m in!!! I’m not a fan of that either!!! And maybe I missed something along the way… but which glaze recipe are you referring to???
