Sure, my purple hyacinth bean vines have nice flowers & seed pods. But the also have great leaves with some very striking veining. Perfect for another “natural” Texture Tuesday!

Just finished stamping up another platter… with just one handmade stamp over & over again! Just in time for another Texture Tuesday!

So the pepperomia plant that I got a couple sessions ago as a “last class trade” prize in a handmade ceramic planter from Christine seems to be doing well… not sure WHAT it’s doing?… but it looks promising. Maybe a lot of new leaves popping up? Just some cool curled red-ness? Either way, it makes for another good “natural” Texture Tuesday!

Meanwhile, back at camp… last week in my morning Wheelthrowing Camp, it looks like I might have a young protege in the making?!!! My summer campers were trimming & decorating their wheelthrown pots on Friday, and suddenly Umah started making this gem of a stamped bowl.

She may have a few more years to go…
but maybe she’ll make a great apprentice some day???

Just received a new carved rolling pin from Elaine Diamond at Vermont Pottery Works @epdiamond! Ready to give it a test run!!! It worked great… with nice crisp lines & patterns. But I kinda like the overlapping & interaction of patterns… so I embellished a bit more with two other rollers. More is more, right?!

For more about these carved rolling pins, click here to check out Elaine’s website!

Tiny little textures…
tiny little acorns just getting started on a big oak tree.
A cute little way to celebrate Texture Tuesday!

Working in the studio tonight after Summer Camp. Trying to get caught-up on a bunch of pieces that have been sitting around under plastic for awhile. Finally got around to stamping this platter that was a class demo piece last week. It”s always amazing to me to see how just one handmade stamp can make such a difference!

A little texture for another TEXTURE TUESDAY!
Some natural textures on the colorful coleus leaves…
contrasted with some more texture in the bricks as a fun background.

Well, a “few” of my new “handbuilt-wheelthrown-combo mugs” have been a little on the LARGE side! I thought they might have been a bit too big?… but you now how some people like a LOT of coffee. So this huge mug was an art fair purchase and they LOVE it. It’s practically as large as the coffee pot itself!!! I guess this way you can say that you “only” had one cup of coffee! Thanks Gordon for sharing you jumbo java mug with everyone!!!
