Tonight in my Wheelthrowing class I surprised one of my students with some new clay jewelry!! Katie has been in my class for awhile, and has been playing with a lot of marbled clay this session. A few weeks back, she used the scraper to get a thin layer of marbled clay off her bat after removing the pot. She was going to just throw it in the reclaim, but I stopped her and told her she should make “something” out of it. It was such a cool slice of marbled clay. She didn’t feel like using it to make anything… but I did!!!

And Katie LOVED them… and immediately wore them in class!!!

Just a couple of Sarah Chapman’s sculptural wall pieces… each with an actual pendant necklace that works into it now… but can easily be taken off to wear out as a piece of jewelry!!!

So good to spend time with my talented metalsmith friend Sarah Chapman this afternoon! She was here for a quick Pop-Up Show in Evanston at Space 900. Three talented artists working together to put on this gallery “sculpture” show… Sarah Chapman, Darlys Ewoldt & Steve Skinner.

I spent the day today down at The One Of A Kind Show helping my friend & uber-talented metalsmith Sarah Chapman in her booth. Beautiful work as always… plus an entire wall dedicated to brooches!!! Sarah did a challenge through 2019 of making one brooch a week!!! I’ll be playing with her again tomorrow at The Merchandise Mart… so be sure to stop by and say “Hello” in Booth #2118.

Had a great time yesterday hanging out with my talented metalsmith friend Sarah Chapman at the ONE OF A KIND SHOW. Her work is amazing… great designs, incredible craftsmanship, fun textures, beautiful stones… and great shadows too!!!

Going down to the Merchandise Mart again today to hang out with my metalsmith friend Sarah Chapman in Booth #2118. C’mon down for the last day of the ONE OF A KIND SHOW. And you’ll see beauties like these necklaces by Sarah… with stacked freshwater pearls & citrine beads, or vintage faceted cherry amber!

Just spent a wonderful day with friends for some post-Christmas festivities.
And some fun gift exchanges… like this handmade beauty from Roscoe my favorite canine friend… err, well… okay my guess is that maybe his momma had a hand in it. Thanks to my talented friend Sarah Chapman for the amazing new IRONMAN necklace… and Roscoe too!!!
