This is the first year we’ve had a master woodworker joining us at ART IN THE GARDEN. Ken Staggs is joining us in the garden to show off his works made with a wide range of woods, each with a great story to go with the hand-turned piece!
Colorful stained glass made with vintage glass, classic dishes and a great design style by Retta Hentschel. Returning for another year at ART IN THE GARDEN with lamps, windows, panels and garden stakes… you’ll need to stop by Glenview to see these pieces really shine in sunlight.

Voted “Miss Congeniality” at last year’s ART IN THE GARDEN, Jill Wallace will be back again with her colorful hand-dyed silks. The colors & patterns are pretty wonderful with many of them made with ICE!!!… who knew?! Come to Glenview and find out how!!!
Returning for another year to ART IN THE GARDEN is impressionist painter Deb Anderson. She has a brilliant touch when it comes to depicting her imagery with subtle brushwork and incredible color choices.

Another favorite artist at ART IN THE GARDEN is my buddy Cory McCrory. Amazing ceramic pieces made with paper clay showing off her love of color, textures and quirky-ness!!!
Always fun to play with Cory… in fact, we’re doing some collaborations together
just for ART IN THE GARDEN. You’ll have to stop by to see the final results of our joint project!!!

With ART IN THE GARDEN just one week away, I thought it might be nice to show off some of the fine artists who will be joining me. Like master metalsmith Amy Taylor who will be hosting the event in her backyard. Amazing jewelry with beautiful stones and whimsical hinges… and her garden ain’t too shabby either!!! Be sure to stop by Glenview next weekend.

With the water level of Lake Michigan about seven inches higher than normal, there are a lot of flooded beaches & places where the waves are coming up over the edges. Kinda fun…. but a little disconcerting at the same time!
A couple new pottery aprons have been added to the inventory!
My Mom has been busy making a couple more in her spare time.
Click here to see the full inventory and full purchasing details.
And as always, you can click on the Handmade Pottery Apron page in the top right corner!
Here’s a quick peek at the new aprons…
But remember, you’ve got to send me an e-mail to claim your apron, not just comment here.
Another colorful day of Summer Camp fun.
Painting sculptures with acrylic paint…
although I’m not totally sure what color they were trying for here?!
A simple arrangement of summer blooms in a textured ikebana vase.
Thanks Kim for sharing some beauties from your garden!
