So apparently I’m NOT the only one whose cactus is starting to bloom… like this one down in Peoria! They’re looking pretty happy in their handmade pottery flower pots, just sayin’! Thanks for the photos Gerry & Rosene!

Anyways, thanks to a Facebook Fan who clarified the difference, this is in fact a Thanksgiving Cactus. Different from a Christmas Cactus… or even more different from an Easter Cactus. Who knew there were three?… not me! But thanks to Kim for clarifying the cactus confusion for me.

Unpacking the crates of pottery from my latest soda kiln firing, and just happened upon this sweet trio of stamped bowls! Pretty much loving the stamped pattern, the evergreenish-slate blue interior glaze… and c’mon… who doesn’t love a good spiral?! Just a few more bowls ready for MY HOLIDAY HOME SHOW!

Dark & rainy this morning… but there’s a glimmer of sunshine happening!!! I just noticed that my Christmas Cactus is getting ready to bloom… something it hasn’t done since I’ve had it!!!! Kind of exciting to see it blooming finally… although it looks like it might be more of a Thanksgiving Cactus than Christmas?! I have no idea how long these flowers will last!!! But I’m excited to find out… finally!!!

Working on my holiday ornaments this afternoon.
Cleaning them up & getting ready to add a metal ring to hang them with! I love how each one of them is so different from the soda-firing… and surprisingly light for a clay ornament! Gotta get them all ready for MY HOLIDAY HOME SHOW which starts next week with socially-distanced appointments.

A surprising beauty blooming in my back courtyard. I thought the clematis were done blooming for the year… but this one must be a little confused!!!

Clear skies with a chilly start to the day. Not a lot of clouds… just a subtle breeze. A simple start to a Saturday morning along the beach.

Late afternoon shadows accentuating some of the red maple leaves that are scattered about. Trying my best to enjoy and take in the last of these beautiful Fall days! So thankful that the Fall colors have been around for as long as they have been this year!

While I was outside pedaling, there were plenty of bees working hard along the lakefront too! Trying to gather the last of the pollen before a big freeze shuts them all down! I’m sure they’re moving a bit slower on these chilly days… but enjoying today’s bright sunshine!!!

With beautiful blue skies & leaves falling fast… I was excited to find this one tree hanging onto its leaves!!! Sure, I’m “supposed” to be home setting up for MY HOLIDAY HOME SHOW and not biking… but how could I miss out on a beautiful day like today?! If nothing else but to see one of the sole survivors along the lakefront!
