Gary Jackson: Fire When Ready Pottery
A Chicago potter’s somewhat slanted view of clay & play

And for those of you following my flowering houseplants… apparently this has been identified as a “Christmas Carol” aloe plant… and the flowers don’t really do much more than open up at the end of each tube, and then wither away?! Still pretty cool plant… love the red spiky edges on the leaves!

Looks like a yummy lunch being “wrapped up” in Stevens Point… always better with handmade pottery on the table! Love the fresh & vibrant colors. Thanks for sharing Kristy & Matt!!!

Finally, after several days of hazy cloud-free morning skies… we were finally treated with some beautiful clouds this morning. Giving the sun something to play with… creating a splash of colors, and then playing hide & seek. A beautiful start to a beautiful Saturday morning.

Thrown & stamped all in one day. I LOVE when that happens! A quick batch of spoon rests on Friday-Funday… where a LOT of the day was spent outside playing on my bike!!!

Another happy plant… throwing up a whole new layer of leaves unfurling in the center! Looks like it’s been enjoying the summer basking in the sun on my kitchen windowsill.

Not a cloud in the sky. Just clear sailing…errr, pedaling
with a chilly breeze early on.

Adding a few accents of colored flashing slip to this latest batch of mugs… just trying to build enough work to fill my next soda kiln!

Another hazy-foggy start with the marine layer delaying the sun’s appearance. Well worth the wait… as a big red ball appeared, and then “bounced” on reflected ripples.

Spent some time tonight adding handles to finish off my newest batch of mugs! Score, slip, squish, attach, repeat… repeat… repeat! So now they’re all attached and back under plastic for the evening. Tomorrow I will add some colored slip accents for the soda kiln firing to come!

Just pulled a few more handles… making a few more MUGS!!!
Fourteen in case you’re counting?!
