A Chicago potter’s somewhat slanted view of clay & play

So I had a glazed ikebana disc that had a crack through it… so I “donated” it to some kids to use as target practice with their BB guns! We put a piece of paper in the center hole so we could see if they every got a bullseye. They may not be very accurate, but the are definitely persistent. They’ve apparently hit ALL around the bullseye… but have never hit the center yet. Keep shooting guys… Sullivan, Maxwell & Franklin… and maybe aim a little better?!!! HA!!!

Celebrating another MUGSHOT MONDAY with a collection of mugs that have become homes to an adorable little succulent garden. They’ve even been drilled through the bottoms for proper drainage! Such a great idea Rosene!

A little surprise visitor this morning… waiting for me on my third-floor deck when I returned from my morning bike ride! Looks like he’s waiting to get into my neighbor’s place… even though he doesn’t live there?! He was friendly enough… but I think he’s one floor too high. I believe he lives on the second floor and might have gotten locked out overnight???

Lazy hazy crazy day of Summer!
Not a lot of sunrise glory…
but more than enough gray “monochrome-ness” & humidity!!!

You know how much I love celebrating a national holiday… so tonight I felt somehow “compelled” to celebrate with my favorite Ben & Jerry’s flavor to celebrate NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY!!! All of my favorite flavors in one place… chocolate, caramel, marshmallow, more chocolate… it’s like the “MORE IS MORE” of ice cream!!!

Looks like someone is kickin’ off the morning with some sweet treats on a couple of stamped plates! Almost a “breakfast of champions”… but where’s the chocolate?!!! Thanks for sharing your pretty pastries Jody.

As the clouds continued to blow into the City, we eventually got a little smidge of a sunrise peeking out… and a pretty stiff headwind all the way home!

After what seemed like a week of rain & gray skies, it felt great to not have the rain today! Sure, the sky was still a bit gloomy, but I’ll take it. It just felt great to be back out on my bike this morning!

All stamped & detailed… and the bowls are all back under plastic until they dry-up a bit more for trimming. Good thing I love trimming too… almost as much as stamping!!!

Almost.

After Tuesday’s “not-so-basic” basic bowl demo… I did a bit of detailing today with some stamps & textures. You know I subscribe to the school of MORE IS MORE.

So this afternoon I did a little bit MORE to the bowls!
