Lots of clouded drama along the lakefront this morning. Just a small window of opportunity for the sun to poke through… but it never did. Instead we were treated to cooler breezes & crashing waves along the lakefront.

Lots of clouded drama along the lakefront this morning. Just a small window of opportunity for the sun to poke through… but it never did. Instead we were treated to cooler breezes & crashing waves along the lakefront.

After the storm rolled through, I ventured out from my studio to go to the Farmer’s Market. It was my first trip of the summer… always exciting to see what they’re offering this time of year. So many colors. So many flavors. All in a new location in Andersonville… seemingly with more vendors than last year!!!

It was a very hazy & humid start to the day. With a layer of “fog” hanging low in the City. Until the sun finally made it up and then the haze seemed to burn away… just as that one big cloud lit-up in the morning sun!

The calm before the storm… err, well… before Summer Camp!!! The kids’ buckets & tools are all ready for another day of fun in my Wheelthrowing Camp! Now I just need some campers…

It wasn’t all that hot this morning, but the humidity must have been through the roof… ‘cuz I was one huge sweaty mess… literally dripping!!! I had to stop several times just to wipe the sweat out of my eyes!!! Hard to see the sunrise when your eyes are burning from the sweat!!! HA!!!

I’m setting up my tent again this weekend… packed with plenty of pots… for the GLENVIEW SUMMER ART FAIR!!! On the grounds of Lyons School in Glenview, Illinois on the corner of Lake & Waukegan Roads. We’ll be there from 11:00am-5:00pm rain or shine… of course we’re all hoping for shine!!!

Just a little carving with my favorite tool from DiamondCore Tools! Another bowl from last week’s class demo… now carving patterns through ombré blended slips. More is more… right???

Last night in class we tried the newest flavor… well, kinda… the bag says it’s “Back By Popular Demand.” Anyway… pretty tasty if you can get past the overly saturated navy blue color of the filling??? We all thought they tasted kinda like PopTarts… and that’s not a bad thing!!!
Thanks to Kathy for finding these new… errr, I mean “blue” taste treats!!!

Another week of Summer Camp!!!
Wheelthrowing with another fun group of pre-teens!
Looks like they’re off to a good start!

Another bowl in need of some more carving. I mean, there was a solid band of slip screamin’ out for a little sumthin’-sumthin’!!! So I did a bit more carving here too… after camp & before class tonight!
